Every time I come here I really want to like it. We usually go with after work for beers and appetizers. They recently started brewing some of their own beers, which I'll be more excited to try after they've had a little more practice. The one I've tried Athena? was a little on the sour side. They also have a few other beers from local breweries, so if you're craving Eagle Monk, but your friend is fiending for an M-43 both are available. The atmosphere is so-so. The bar side looks beautiful with rich wood and subdued lighting - I'd happily meet someone THERE. The dining area looks like a hastily thrown-together community potluck, complete with uncomfortable chairs and catering company style tables. I've had the chicken sandwich don't bother and some appetizers- none of which blew my mind.
Spartan Brewpub is pretty good. Tried the Spartan Shield and Spartan Sword beers and enjoyed both. The food was a bit underwhelming, but ok. Bartender was friendly. The environment was nice, but seemed like a typical place.
Went twice to this new brewery. The food was delicious and so was the beer. Service was quick and attentive. The first visit was just 2 of us and we were surprised by the quick delivery of our delicious Nachos with brisket ! Very delicious. We went back with a group of 12 three days later. We had to wait a little longer to get our drinks and food but the parking lot was packed! Same good food and beer. Reasonable prices, too. You should check it out!
Service is very good and staff is warm and helpful. Beer is good to very good. Nice food choices and a large tap list that is not restricted to their own brews, and is especially varied...I really enjoyed that! Dining area is large, but furniture is a bit underwhelming. Easy to spot in normal traffic and ample choices.
The food was delicious. The service was great. I had the brisket nachos. I wish I had asked for the name of our waiter because he was fantastic. The food took a very long time to come out, but I'd attribute that to growing pains and wouldn't hold it against them.
Good food and great service. I ordered a beer that I'd had before elsewhere. It didn't taste the same and I asked our waitress about it. She brought over the bartender who explained the difference in taste then offered to replace it with something else. They brought me something to taste to make sure I liked it then replaced my drink- and credited our bill. This place is cozy and comfortable but large enough to host larger groups, too. We'll go back again.
We were in after the game Saturday. We are big supporters of locally owned business. I am not normally one to review places but I need to point out the food issues. None of my group are really drinkers but we were eager to try the food and we were hungry. I hope the food improves. We had a terrible meal. The cheese soup was good but the brisket sandwich was dry and chewy, the nachos were ok but not great. The burger was so salty none of us could eat it and we like salt. We were told the burger is seasoned when ground and when cooked. It was terrible. The staff was friendly but slow moving. Atmosphere felt more like a club, such as the Eagles. That's not a big deal the numerous TV's are all that matters on football Saturday. Please, please, please fix the menu & kitchen issue. We want to support the business and it's close to home. The food is as important as the beer. We'll try again. Good luck.
First visit here. Very pleasant atmosphere. Lots of TV screens. Volume off, no captions that we saw. Very good service. Good selection of sandwiches, soups, and salads. The craft beer selection is extensive. Some unusual appetizer options were appreciated. The crowd was lite on a week nite. We will be back.
Some obvious growing pains, but great potential. The house beers are fine, had both porters. I would say more a black IPA than traditional porter, but nothing to complain about. Sampled all the house beers available, and again good. A beer snob will find enough to appreciate and nitpick about; so win win. Brisket was excellent. Atmosphere was good. I'll come back again.
well I wish I could comment on the beer or food but I can't as we never got waited on. We were there on a Sunday around 5 o'clock. There were only two other tables of people there. We waited more than 5 minutes for someone to acknowledge that we existed. One bartender and two servers were working. One server walked by us twice and the other one once. I did not expect them to stop what they were doing and wait on us, however I do expect someone to at least mention that they know we're there and will get to us soon. The inside does look nice and there seemed to be a good selection of brews. Too bad we won't be coming back. The one thing I won't do is patronize a business that has horrible or no service!
