Spartan Child Development Center was established in 1971 and is dedicated to meeting the needs of all children ages two weeks to six years. We provide an environment that nurtures and guides children’s individual growth and development. Our philosophy focuses on the fact that each child is a unique person with an individual personality, learning style, and cultural background. The curriculum is play-based and child-centered. Teachers develop lesson plans that support the ideas and interests of the children. Experiences are provided that meet the individual learning needs of the children and support growth in the following developmental areas; social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language.
Spartan Child Development Center is a self-supporting, non-profit corporation that is affiliated with Michigan State University. The policy-making body is the board of directors, which is a body of individuals comprised of parents, staff members, and professionals from MSU and the community.
