The Spartan Debate Institutes are summer programs for high school debate students and coaches, held on the campus of Michigan State University.
The Spartan Debate Institute began in 1992. Since then SDI has hosted more than 3,000 debaters, from all 50 states and coming from schools and debate circuits of all sizes.
The Spartan Debate Institute is centered on maximizing instruction and value for all students who attend. Our commitment to each and every student still resolves around the same principles we pioneered in our first summer: quality faculty; comprehensive curriculum; instruction for all levels; a student to staff ratio of 8:1 or less; at least four debate per week; individualized instruction; and a fun, safe environment.
