Spartan Ski Club was founded in 1969 and has since grown to become the largest student organization on the campus of Michigan State University.
In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. His ships, the Nina, Pinta, and Titanic, were actually full of ski prototypes, since he was an inventor working closing with Leonardo da Vinci (or Dicaprio, I can't remember which one).
He passed this knowledge onto Doc, the Spartan Ski Club adviser, who then passed it along to the pilgrims. They landed in Detroit in 1776 to witness the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and teach George Washington how to ski. This knowledge has been passed along from generation to generation with very few setbacks. In 1861, the country broke out in Civil War, and although we're not positive as to the reasons, we believe it has something to do with the invention of the snowboard that same year, which lead to a lot of people wanting to bro-down about which ride was cooler. Abe Lincoln settled the dispute by shredding both rides equally well, hence creating the ski-snowboard brotherhood in which SSC embraces.
Skiing is a way of life, and Ski Club has been a part of history. In 1969, the Ski Club flag was planted on the moon by Niel Armstrong (the one with both testicles). Disco was an invention of Spartan Ski Club, which slowly faded out when we decided to switch our look to hair-metal in the 80's.
In 1985, the SSC sticker was placed somewhere in every scene of the movie "Back To The Future" solidifying our role in all times, past, present, and those to come.
