I treated myself to a facial and 100 minute deep tissue massage yesterday. Both services were great and felt relaxing. During the massage I fell asleep a few times which is always a good sign for me. I will definitely return and incorporate this self care into my busy schedule. Everyone that I encountered here was very professional and welcoming. Also, the prices are pretty reasonable for the quality of service you're getting. My Esthetician was Annie Hamilton and the MT was Eric Phillips.
Easy to book online. I was able to text about my appointment and even though i was running late, it wasn't a problem for the staff. Facilities were great and i loved being able to pick the music and lotion scent next level! Of course, most importantly, my massage therapist did a great job with my massage. Probably the best I've ever had.
My massage therapist, Eric, was absolutely phenomenal. I've been dealing with chronic pain in my back, shoulders, and neck for a while now. He was able to improve my pain and range of motion after just one visit. The facility is clean and relaxing. Wish I could give it 10 stars!
I really wanted to like this place as it had extremely high ratings and a really good friend recommended it to ne. But unfortunately I just can't say I was impressed whatsoever. My therapist cut my 80 minute massage short and only did 60 minutes. He asked 3x how how my massage was, didn't massage half of my body, threw the robe on top of me after massage, shut off the lights completely THEN turned them on to full brightness after my massage, massaged my knee caps, massaged my spine, did not have his mask on all the way. The list goes on. In addition, my partner got a massage as well and they cut his short by 20 minutes. The therapist stated we were running late and couldn't accommodate the tardiness. But we were there BEFORE our appointment and had to fill out forms per the front desk, something that was not optional. Honestly the lack of communication and just general disrespect from the therapists, not just one of them, but both of ours was insane. The only reason this place gets anything above a 0 is because the women at the front desk were very pleasant.
I am not a person that takes the time to write reviews, but I had the best massage I’ve ever had with JoAn. She was able to provide feedback and suggestions on how to take care of myself, applied the perfect pressure to problem areas and even stretched me out to maximize the efficacy of the massage therapy. Will be coming back. I’ve had good experiences with their facials here as well
I booked the “Spalebration” at Spavia LP and everyone was very communicative & accommodating throughout the entire process. The staff heard me out through all of my questions, comments, and concerns. My entire group loved the services they received and had nothing negative to say. The location itself is very clean, has the ambiance of a luxury spa and a spacious parking lot which is hard to find for Lincoln Park businesses. I would definitely book again for group AND personal experiences!
Everyone is very welcoming at this spa. Had a wonderful massage provided by Krystin. I’ve been to physical therapy multiple times for issues with frozen shoulder and the stretches she provided during session and for me to do at home has done wonders to eliminate my pain! Pain I lived with for years. She even has a background in physical therapy and is a personal trainer and knows her muscles very well.
I’ve been to Spavia twice. My first and second time booking online were the same experience, not great. When you book an appointment in your online account, you should be able to view your transactions, appointments and you should be able to review all when you enter credit card info in, review all and then submit and receive an email confirmation indicating you have booked an appointment however when booking online you choose service and enter credit card and it books it, says thanks for booking. So there’s no email confirmation, nowhere to put a promo code, I had a bday code which they were able to add when I asked them however the online booking isn’t good. The rep over email said it’s because I opted out of email which is not true because I was still getting emails and this happened the first time I booked at salon. I booked a purifying detox wrap which was ok. I’ve been to one spa before and I’ve had the hair oil treatment at Spavia once before. My first hair oil treatment was amazing, relaxing and my hair was so soft after and this time the detox wrap included the hair oil and it was such a tiny amount this time, not same and my hair was still really dry after shampooing later that I ended up getting a deep condition elsewhere. The thing that made me upset was the placing of two hot rocks on back of the neck for a long time while having the treatment. I’ve read other reviews here saying it burnt them and my back neck is little pink ugh just very annoyed. So glad I asked her remove it, what are you all thinking? You could place it there a bit or massage there a bit with it however even I know that you’re not supposed to leave it there for so long. For $119 plus tip, I used my bday coupon which I appreciate, however for that price I left the spa feeling still dry. It was such a tiny amount of solution etc applied and most of the time was spent on removing your body from wraps etc and not enough on treatment. When I left, my body was still dry and my skin wasn’t even soft. I feel I could achieve better results myself with just lotion and conditioner on hair. I will definitely not be going back and it was a waste of money. I’ve been to one other spa in past that was amazing, drenched you in solution etc and I left so hydrated for the week and didn’t even need lotion all week after. I just sadly wasn’t impressed with Spavia but I am upset at that hot rock on back neck, please stop doing this, you’re going to burn people and it’s going to lead into issues.
Eric was great, super friendly and I enjoyed a very relaxing massage. I communicated that I had a recent knee surgery and he was very attentive to my condition. The spa was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Bonus points for easy parking!
First time at this spa. The changes rooms were a little small and I didn't have a chance to sit in the relaxing room no worries. Loved extra pampering with the slippers and rope. I had a salt stone massage with Krystin F. and it was amazing.
