If you are double covered don't even bother to submit information for both because your secondary won't be billed. When you call and ask why the remainder wasn't billed to your secondary they'll tell you they'll look into it and instead you'll get sent to collections. Not even going to get started on how terrible the care was in post op. Avoid this hospital if you would like to be properly cared for and have staff that can competently bill both of your insurances.
The lady that answers the phone Carol, said she was the operator was extremely rude, she needs to seriously learn how to be nice and respectful of patients. Major attitude adjustment needed!!! If she hates her job so much she shouldn't be there, replaced with someone who actually cares!
A couple of shout-outs: Jasmine, who works the front desk at both the hospital and urgent care, is an angel. She is SO sweet, efficient and helpful. I feel so welcome when I interact with her. Kim, an ultrasound tech at Pennock, is also an angel. She made an uncomfortable test feel more like I was hanging out with a friend. She is so friendly and personable, kudos to Pennock for bringing in friendly medical professionals. Many are smart, but not personable -- I found that at Pennock, the staff was both professional and personable. The hospital is also very clean, open, and easy to navigate. Highly recommend.
They don't know what they are doing or how to treat people. My friends dad went to them to have a hole in his back treated and they did it improperly so he developed grangrene. After he called to ask if he should come in because it developed a smell they told him no it will get worse before it gets better and he would be fine. He's now dying and has about a week to live thanks to thier neglect. Don't ever trust them.
I have been to hospitals in Grand Rapids, Plainwell, Allegan, and Holland and Pennock is by far the best. They are so quick and get you in and out fast while making you feel like you are the only patient they are dealing with. Highly recommend!
I applied to be a massage therapist here, and despite my 20 plus years of experience they denied me, without so much as an interview. Upon looking at their review score, seems like I was fortunate. I feel bad for the community they serve.
I have been going here since I was young, only a handful of times have this place actually helped but for the most part every experience that I had with them was very traumatic. If you are going to them for mental health purposes go anywhere but there. They aren't good with handling those situations. Some of them can't find a vein even if it was neon yellow.
The one star is for the ladies who greet you at the front desk and the dr.office . I understand that people get the flu but making a person with complications of the throat and needing a growth in the throat to have surgery on and not admitting them is another...why are sick people being turned away from hospitals while they only want healthy people there. This is beyond anything I have ever seen in my almost 60yrs of life. Just because the hospital administration wants to dictate "rules" for healthy and sick people and make money in kickbacks from this flu from the government doesn't mean we need a hospital like this in our community. We need a hospital that works on sick people. People start waking up,this is about the control to tell you what to do. I wouldn't want to go to this hospital if I needed emergency care.
We recently took my elderly father in law in in due to his progressed Parkinson's disease. The care was extraordinary and the help we recieved from the social worker Rachel made a difficult time go very smoothly.
Giving two stars because the registration staff and nurse were very friendly.. but other than that i would give no stars if I could. I went in with a fever of 104.5 and the worst migraine I have ever experienced and was very vocal about how much pain I was in and where it was located. I was taken back right away which was nice, A nurse greeted me and started asking the standard questions and took my temperature.. She told me my temperature was just under 104 degrees and looked like it was going down... But put in my chart that my temperature was 100 degrees and I did not present with a headache or other symptoms. JUST A FEVER. I told her and the doctor several times that we needed to get my headache under control as I was having vision issues and I just couldn't take the pain anymore... I was given a Tylenol and my test results and sent on my way. They did not listen to me and I truly believe I could have received so much better care if the medical staff had listened to what I was saying was happening to my body instead of what they wanted to hear. DO BETTER PENNOCK!
