Literally the worst hospital I've ever been in. I kept hearing horror stories, but figured people were exaggerating. Nope. Just drive yourself to Altoona, these idiots will send you somewhere else after they twiddle their thumbs for hours anyway. Do better, conemaugh health! Edit: I have never in my entire life been to an ER that does not even check on patients for hours! Brought my kid in for a simple COVID test, they shoved us in a room with no call button and no one even bothered to come in for over 2 hours. I opened the door to indicate we were still here but not one person even passed by.we couldhear them talking and laughing from somewhere though. Unacceptable.
My father has been very well taken care of. The hospital is clean, and welcoming. The nurses were so kind and helpful. The Drs. Have been wonderful with him.
I cannot express how grateful I am for the care we received for a very emergent situation with my 7 year old son yesterday.. Dr. Magley, Dr. Vittozzi, and every single nurse, respiratory therapist, xray tech, front desk receptionist...everyone we came into contact with moved quick and professionally to give My son the best care.. reassured me in all of my anxiety...and stabilized him and got him to children's ASAP. When we reached children's hospital, they too were impressed and said that miners did everything and more that they were supposed to. I will never hesitate to come here for our care. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the Miners medical center staff!
Miners diagnosed my problem quickly and all the staff were kind and helpful. Only reason missing a star is because they don’t have all the necessary capabilities there depending on your issue.
I was checked in by Lisa , so kind and pleasant , X-ray with Roberta so kind We are so blessed to have a community hospital
10/14/22 visited ER due to my 7 yr old having a seizure at 10 PM and 2 hrs from home. Everyone was very friendly and service was fast only in waiting room 15-20 min. We were there a total of about 2 hours including CT scan, blood work, and results. At our local ER, you can plan on being in the waiting room for 3 hours.
i came here with chest pain and difficulty breathing with cold symptoms. first of all it took them foreverthere was no one here, then the nurse was VERY rude, THEN the doctor comes in tells me i didn’t have a fever when i saw the thermometer and i did, also throat feels like it’s on fire but nope they didn’t test me for strep. all they care about is covid and money, no manners at all. and definitely not friendly. gave me tylenol, covid tested me and sent me home. WASTE OF TIME.AND to finish it off i can’t hear out of my ear, told her that , and just blew me off.
The initial experience with the reception or registration was less than friendly. The person Lisa that checked me in to have my blood drawn was not customer friendly and I felt she was rude. I read made to feel like felt like I was an imposition and that I was bothering her. She took my insurance cards and license and literally shoved them back at me after she was done. She briskly told me to “Go down the hall and take a right”. That’s it! I think Lisa needs some intervention and perhaps some remedial training on how to interact with customers. Especially in a setting where patients are not feeling well to begin with . On a good note, the lab personnel were helpful, full of smiles, caring and all around great.
Took my sister for a colonoscopy. The short procedure room was very crowded and noisy. While walking to the bed, the nurse shouts to my sister, " what are you here for?", This was while walking past all of the people. Very unprofessional> What happened to patient confidentiality? Then there were 3 nurses and two nurse trainees crowded by the bed. They asked my sister question after question, which she had answered on the phone previously. Some of them were very personal, and the nurse was standing quite a distance from her, so she had to speak loudly, and my sister had to answer loudly. Again, very unprofessional. When it was time for the IV to be put in, they let the one trainee do it. You could tell she was very unsure of herself, and did not know what to do. Whatever she did, my sister's hand started bleeding very badly. There was blood everywhere. And it was extremely painful. After they got the bleeding under control, the nurse looks at the other student nurse and ask him it he wants to try to put in the IV needle. At this point I told them that they are done using my sister for a guinea pig. They had someone come in and they did a great job. When my sister came out of the operating room, they brought her a small paper cup of 7up, and a pack of cookies. This is after not eating for over 24 hours. She doesn't eat sweets. The doctor came out and told her everything looks good. Her PCP told her she has diverticulitis. I told him that and he said there were some pockets in her bowel. I then ask him something about her stomach issues, and he just said he doesn't know. It was a bad experience all around. They need to train their employees on patient confidentiality and bedside manner.
I had some tests done in the radiology department recently. It turned out that I needed further testing and of course I was not scheduled for them. I did have a bit of a wait which I expected. The radiology department treated me so well. I was offered a blanket several times. I was also offered something to drink. Everyone in the department kept apologizing. I told them I understood. The manager even sat and talked with me. When does that ever happen??? She gave my husband and I tickets to get free lunch for both of us at the cafeteria. The food was good. I will not forget how well I was treated that day. It helped with my anxiety. Thank you all for your kindness and great care.
