Spencer Island Campground

This campground is in an amazing location right on the beach with a great view and an operating lighthouse. We only were able to stay one night but definitely would recommend the property. While the campground has been around for many years it is now under new ownership and it will be interesting to see how the new owners continue to improve the property. The campsites are standard for a beach front campground with lots of beach front footage for everyone to have a campfire on the beach. During our visit we were lucky enough to have a site adjacent to the lighthouse. The atmosphere and view was second to none. The new owners are excited and energized to be taking on this new endeavor and I expect this site will continue to get better under their management. Third trip to this absolute gem of a place. New owners are lovely and made us feel at home. The view is breathtaking. The beach is beautiful and can walk for miles during low tide. Cottages have everything you need. Fire pits are directly in front of the cottages and directly on the beach. Sunrises and sunsets are unbeatable. Great value for a wonderful piece of paradise. Highly recommend this place.

Just returned from the most incredible camping experience. 2 adults and 3 kids loved the amenities of Cabin 4, although we spent most of our days exploring the ocean floor during low tide. Owners Bill & Joanne organized a lobster boil for us, which was the highlight of the trip. We even saw a dolphin swim right along the shore our last night there. Everything about this campground is fantastic and magical. A true gem of a place and already dreaming of returning!

Very nice campsite, right on the beach. Very clean sanitary facilities. I was very warmly welcomed by the owners. For me, a small piece of heaven, which I like to visit again.

I LOVED IT here!!! Our cottage was well turned out and comfortable, well equipped in the kitchen and comfortable sleeping quarters that felt like a hug at the end of the day! And that view of the Bay of Fundy and its dramatic tides! And the gift shop behind the campground was great! They had some amazing stuff! Book it now!

We stayed at Old Shipyard Beach Campground 1 - 4 August 2022. The view was stunning; watching the tide changes was amazing, and the sunrises were spectacular. The campground owners and staff were exceptional while we dealt with a truck breakdown. They showed compassion and generosity that was above and beyond anything we have experienced. We highly recommend this campground and would love to return.

I stayed in a gorgeous cottage. The cottage had a bedroom with a double bed, dresser drawers, a lovely view of the bay of Fundy. Sofa, breakfast bar, fully equipped kitchen and television. The beach is 10 steps out the front door. Beach combing and fishing to my hearts content. I had a memorable and relaxing vacation. They have washers and dryers as well.

We have been going to this campground for about 10 or so years now,it NEVER disappoints. Walkability: Lots of great beach walking
