The only thing that deserves 4 stars here are the prices. I've stayed in many 3 star hotels that are better in every way. The staff is disinterested at best, borderline rude. At least those we encountered. The entire building is extremely outdated, it seems like nothing was updated since at least the 80s. Our room smelled and looked more like an old cheap motel room. The sheets and bathroom cleanliness was okay, like in any decent 3 star hotel. The room AC is terrible. There is no free drinking water, the tap water tastes like it was taken from a public pool, which is typical for Chicago. A 4 star hotel should at least offer free bottled water or filtered drinking fountains to refill bottles. All food and drink options are extremely overpriced and low quality we did not try the bar though. What generally separates 4 from 3 star hotels is some attention to details, as well as consistently attentive and extra friendly staff. This hotel showed none of those during our short about 12 hours overnight stay. The only good thing about this airport hotel is the convenient location.
We stayed here the night before an early flight. We got a room with runway view. It was amazing. The room was clean. Staff very helpful. Also we flew delta which moved to terminal 5. The front desk shuttled us from the hotel to our terminal. Will definitely stay here again.Rooms: 5/5
Hilton is well known all over worldwide for her highest standard of great service quality. However, the implementation of the standard shows otherwise at the service counter. A bottle of water is sold for $5 at the store next to the lobby. And the store staff suggested us that we could ask the hotel counter staffs a bottled water for free without purchasing there. But the night shift receptionist said that since I am not a Hilton member, hence I, a Hilton guest, cannot enjoy the free bottled water service in this hotel. After some back and forth conversations, they eventually, unwillingly, gave me two bottled waters, for a family of three. Due to the conditioning air in the room was so dry, my body, eyes, and throat became irritated. Bottled water quickly ran out. Again, the next day shift staffs also said that non-members do not have privileges. Wow! Hilton internal training is truly and thoroughly conducted. A bottle of water doesn't cost much at all… Really! “True greatness will be achieved through the abundant mind that works selflessly - with mutual respect, for mutual benefit.” Stephen Covey
Stayed here because had an early flight the next morning with a small child under 2. This was a great location because could walk to the United check in area in under 2 min. The room was fairly small and we could only get 2 double sized beds. With 3 adults and one small child it was fairly tight. I would only recommend this hotel if you had a very early flight in the morning as you could probably get a slightly cheaper hotel nearby with a short shuttle in the morning.
For the price charged, I am absolutely shocked not even a continental breakfast provided. Very nice desk in the room, but no pens. Nothing to advise guests of amenities available. Called guests services on the phone, but no one answered. This will be our last stay. Convenience to the terminal doesn't offset the cost and lack of amenities found at any Motel 6.
Terrible hotel! Not recommended! We chose to stay in the O’Hare Hilton for convenience the night before traveling to Spain. Turned out to be a terrible decision. I added our daughter’s name to the reservation so she and her husband could check in ahead of us, but they wouldn’t let her check in until we got there. Once we got to the room, it was terribly warm and we were not able to control the A/C to keep the room cool. It was clearly a reservation for 4 people, but there were insufficient pillows, blankets, towels, etc for 4 people. One of the beds was a sleeper sofa. The mattress was so thin that we could feel the bars at our hips, making sleep impossible. We stayed in 16 low cost hotels/hostels across Spain and NONE OF THEM was as bad as our room in this Hilton. I would also add that they never asked for my feedback on my stay. Seems that they KNOW not to ask.
Rooms are old. Decor crazy dated. Lamps are using curly fluorescent bulbs. Carpet is old. It’s currently 61 outside after a summer storm but there’s no heat in the rooms. It doesn’t get better when you go downstairs for food. Restaurant has a printed sign on a post as you walk up saying “wait for food is minimum 45 minutes.” For the privilege of waiting this amount of time you will find a chicken sandwich and fries are $17.95. If you are looking for a tasty hops style beverage it’s $11.50. Hotel is convenient in that you can walk to the terminal but it’s clear what Hilton corporate thinks of this property.
This is by far the worst airport hotel in the country. The room is literally the quality of a Motel 6. All while charging $400 a night for the "convenience" of being at the terminal. The carpet looks like it was cleaned in 1987. The drapes were stained. The sheets were so worn that they were yellowish. There was a half used cup of mouthwash in the nightstand. I had to walk downstairs with my luggage and cancel my reservation. They still charged me $75 to cancel, which I gladly paid just to go to another hotel. It was that bad. Don't stay here. Plenty of better options at half the price with 24hr. Shuttles.
Noticed the details and chipped paint in the bathroom was discerning but the location due to our early morning flight was convenient and for most part quiet but there was a beeping noise somewhere in the room that kept beeping until I ignored it and fell asleep. We looked all over the room and couldn't find where it was coming from to turn it off. The beds were comfortable and cozy. Lobby was pretty. Location was excellent but I expected more from a Hilton.
The convenience is not worth it! Wife and I fell for this trap after landing from an international flight, and severely regretted not staying somewhere else. Trust the reviews…the facility is old, the rooms are in poor shape. Bed isn’t comfortable, and both my wife and I slept on top of the blankets because the room was so hot. The food we tried was overpriced for the quality, and you aren’t able to have any food delivered to the hotel via popular apps. Highly recommend searching for a Hilton or other property just outside the airport grounds and using their free shuttle service.
