Awesome place to stay been coming for years. Owners couldn't offer a better venue!Rooms: 5/5
Actually 3.5 stars. I don't know how to describe the weird vibe at this place. If you want quiet, this is not the place. Unsupervised kids ran wild around the property the entire week. I know it's family friendly, but the entire center of the resort is a playground for kids. And there were a select few every day who were very unattended. If you don't have a cabin with waterfront as we did. A week is too long. It is clean, private, quiet at night. They had a very fun band play on their dock lake side. That was very nice. But they need to reel the parents in on their kids over the top behavior. Please don't tell me kids will be kids. I enjoy kids, I blame the parents and the owners for not an occasional look in.
Amazing owners and location. My husband and I visited 4 years ago to celebrate an anniversary and had the pleasure of meeting Carla and her family. They were so helpful and kind. We stayed in cottage 20 and love the location. We brought our chocolate lab who loved swimming in the lake. We are going back this summer with my parents, and sisters family, plus our three kids this time! It has been easy to communicate with Carla and we are so excited for our stay!
Love the quaintness of the location and enjoyed the rustic cabins. Loved being lakefront. The boats that we rented were just okay. I'm sure they were very nice about 15 years ago. Look forward to returning in the future. The fishing was just okay but that is not the fault of springs Lodge
We stayed at Spring Lodge in August 2016. It was an unscheduled stop on a spontaneous vacation. Needed a place to stay, so we knocked on the door after dark and were graciously greeted by one if the owners. She provided us with 2 options, which both provided us with clean, cute, cozy, updated, friendly cabin to stay. And even provided us with a late check out, due to our late arrival. The next morning we walked around the property to check out the grounds with the intention of booking a vacation for the entire family for next summer. We were fortunate to meet very friendly employees who were able answer all of our questions about the resort and area. Even got to walk through cabins to do our own personal inspection to satisfy our curiosity. These new owners care about their investment and their guests. Looking forward to our family vacation at Spring Lodge!
Highly recommend! We came as a multi-generational family ages 14-74! my family came here for years this year it was my self, my husband, our 3 kids + their 3 friends, my mom, my friend and her kids! Everyone loved it! My kids keep talking about how it was one of the best vacations ever! As good as going on the cruises! We kayaked, paddle boarded, jet skied, boated, fished, swam, biked, saw amazing sunsets, played cards, had bonfires, just enjoyed family and friends! There is yoga on the beach in the mornings, and on Friday’s a live band on the dock . I have had so many wonderful memories here and I am so grateful that now I am getting to make more memories here with my husband and kids. It’s our new family tradition, a yearly trip to the SL! We come all the way from Charlotte NC! The cabins are clean and cozy and have all that you need! We rented a pontoon from them and it was great! Our entire crew can not wait to go back ! See u in July 2020! ‘This is a place where my kids will end up bringing their kids in the future! Love love love it! Btw the kayaks, and bikes are there for the guests to use at no cost !
I do not like to post negative reviews but this place used to be a family favorite for years and it breaks my heart to see what it has become. The nit picking, rudeness and outright nasty behavior towards me and my family was simply uncalled for. We tried to visit again multiple times after our first unpleasant experience but the owners persisted to treat us poorly without cause. All we wanted was to fish and enjoy time with our family. Unfortunately that was too much to ask. I wish no ill will to the owners but a character check is very warranted. We will continue our trips to the U.P. but unfortunately NEVER the Spring Lodge again.
Great location with beautiful views and peaceful setting. Very friendly family owned staff. Cottage 9 was plenty of space for the four of us. Very clean and well put together Only complaint would be, wish there was a few more cooking items in the kitchen and couple of the power outlets need replaced.
Though I've never stayed the night at Spring Lodge, I love to visit. They offer live music, yoga and have a nice beach. Just recently they hosted the Odyssey Swim Run welcoming everyone to come and see the excitement.
My family and I have been coming to the Spring Lodge for 20 years. We have family friends who we meet up here every single year for the week of the fourth of July. Cedarville and the Spring Lodge has been my home away from home for my entire life. Carla and Ernie the owners made our families feel as though we were walking on eggshells because of their unrealistic expectations. They let their grandchildren run around in the driveway and put a stop sign coming off a road where the speed limit is 30 mph. If you don't stop for a full 60 seconds, then you get screamed at instead of someone kindly asking you. If you make a peep after 10 o'clock, then you again get screamed at. Basically, if you don't sit in your cabin and not be on vacation, then you are not wanted. There is zero effective communication of expectations. When you break one of their millions of rules, you get yelled at by one of the drill sergeants. Our families tried very hard to follow each of their rules whenever it was brought to our attention that we were breaking their many rules that are either written in fine print or they just make up once they decide you're having too much fun. They view their property as their home where guests must be quiet and discrete rather than a place where families can come to enjoy their time with one another and the beautiful place that Cedarville is. I am so disappointed that this family has managed to run out families that grew up coming to the UP due to their controlling, unfriendly and rude atmosphere.
