I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I was given an appointment with a surgeon. It was supposed to be a consultation to explain the mammogram so I thought. He had other things in mind and pressured me to do a biopsy. Now the cancer has an outlet to my bloodstream. I feel it was an ambush tactic. At the next appointment he quickly went through what he was going to do and did not take any time to explain the process to a complete novice. A five minute or less explanation is not sufficient for an operation that will last a lifetime . After complaining we finally got an appointment with an oncologist. This woman was much worse than the surgeon. She was a vile person with a God complex that refused to answer our questions about procedures. Where do they find such incompetent, vile people that have no sense of empathy towards patients that have just received devastating news. We will not use these doctors as they have lost their ability to care for others. I would not recommend this hospital to anyone. The Doctors need to be fired or at the very least go through sensitivity training. Just so your aware Saint Anthony's your patients are not sub human. Don't use this hospital take the drive to where doctors actually know how to treat people with respect and care.
The worst hospital in the state. They have botched my wife surgery and had to repeat three times to do right. And admitted it too. Killed my grandfather after his car wreck by misdiagnosing/writing off his symptoms and botched my mothers surgery as well and she’s had major complications. Taking your loved ones here is like purposely wanting them to suffer more. And possibly die.
Absolutely the most incompetent bunch of ER Folks I have ever seen. If you have an emergency, do yourself a favor and drive to Oklahoma City. ER was filled with nothing but people looking for primary care no real emergency. I’m sure this emergency room has one of the highest death rates in the entire state of Oklahoma. Was in waiting room for three hours, and never got to see a physician. Absolutely dismal healthcare.
The ER has staff that treats people like trash. Not saying all staff but the experience I got today with dealing adult child was horrible. A fall with neck injury, numbness to arms and hands. Test showed no fractures and that is a blessing. When one admits they have a history of drug use and then judged as not a human is so wrong. Clearly there was a fall with a head injury. Goose egg on forehead and cuts all over face. Not once did any staff do any neurological test to check for concussion… The PAs response was “I believe it is due to substance… I didn’t allow the sentence to be completed. I knew how it was gonna be because of his past and I made that known quickly…. Medical staff should treat people humanly despite their history, back ground, ethnicity or financial pay source. Healthcare workers treat people with dignity and compassion.. NOT at SSM Shawnee Ok
Was in for an emergency involving my child, after getting a necessary X-ray we were waiting on the results. While waiting we started to hear yelling and screaming and banging in the room right next to us. We were obviously anxious to hear the results of X-ray and the commotion from the next room was scaring my young child. We went out to find someone to talk to and the front desk had sent someone to our room. When the woman came to our room we asked if there was any news of our results and she explained that dr. Would review them soon. We apologized for bothering her and explained that we were just unnerved by all of the yelling and banging from next room, she flatly said “ this is an emergency room and walked out”. We were in no way being rude or disrespectful and this seemed highly unprofessional since we were just asking questions. We will be going elsewhere from now on.
My mom was in a car accident the ambulance took her to this hospital. She’s a 78 years old When I arrived, there was no IV and the nurse wasn’t around for 45 minutes. I had to move the trash can over so my mom could throw up. When the nurse came in she kicked the trash can back over. Her attitude was annoyed and agitated. No pain pills or care was given. If you want compassion or care don’t go here.
Said my grandfather who was showing CLEAR SIGNS didn't have a stroke, then refused to transport him to the VA after they had discharged him and we were told by REACT that they could only transport to here. Guess what the VA found? Yup...you guessed it....they're keeping him overnight because they're almost positive he's had a stroke and are running tests and yes...we showed them what SSM had did....Wish I could give this poor excuse of a hospital an even lower rating.....
The ER department is a joke. Was taken here for an injury at work where my finger had basically exploded, bone sticking out, etc.. Was told by their ER doctor he wouldn't put stitches in because an ortho would just take them out and to make an appointment with one to get it taken care of, which wouldn't be until the next day. I got an iodine bath, they wrapped gauze around my finger, put the exact same splint the ambulance put on my finger back on, and then wrapped it with the brown sticky stuff. Mind you my finger was about 4-6inches around in bandaging Was sent home and excessively started bleeding through the bandaging, multiple paper towels, and down my arm. Went to Baptist where the ER doctor there couldn't believe I was sent home like that, numbed my finger, completely cleaned the finger out and put stitches into my finger to stop the bleeding. Filed a complaint with this hospital and their response is "I received the proper care" and only "a stitch" to stop the bleeding was given from Baptist. I had multiple stitches out into my finger. Not only was the ER doc and staff at Baptist appalled as to my care, but also the orthopedic surgeon and her staff as well. Also have been told it's just a bandaid hospital, on a long list of worthless care. DO NOT GO HERE FOR AN EMERGENCY. I would post photos of the whole ordeal but they are quite gruesome.
Shouldn't even be in business, my sick infant daughter sat in the emergency room screaming her head off for two hours while they take back old people that showed up an hour after I did. Everyone at this establishment has your worst interest in mind and have no intention of helping anyone. That's why my store manager died on the table because your surgeons can't even do surgery. What a bunch of clowns.
Went in for light spotting and cramping. I'm pregnant so little worried. Ultrasound showed a mass in the tube and well was told that it was ectopic and we need to start medication to end pregnancy. Something said not to and I called my doc and he said go to his hospital. Well I would have ended a perfectly healthy pregnancy if I would have listened. Now the doctor was super nice I really like him but I don't like that the just wanted to end it then. The ob tried to talk me into the medication and showed me the us which did in fact show a mass in my tube but that was a cyst that helps supply hcg and progesterone to my baby. My doctors hospital found the baby where he needs to be and explained the mass. So close to losing our baby.
