The St. Bart’s Players is a membership club of people who have a common interest in performing in and producing quality theatre in New York at affordable prices.
Founded in 1927, the St. Bart's Players has been a self-supporting, nonprofit community theatre company for more than three-quarters of a century. It is the longest continuously running community theatre group in New York City. Our home base is St. Bartholomew's Church at 325 Park Avenue at 51st Street in Manhattan. Most of our members hold full-time day jobs in a wide variety of careers and pursue their theatre dreams in their off-hours. The group is a melting pot of creativity, talent and management skills that is infused with a hard-work ethic — all of which serves us well in putting together quality shows for our audiences.
While The Players receives significant administrative and logistical guidance and support from St. Bartholomew's Church, we are managed by a Board, all of whom are members who volunteer their time and energy. We are guests of St. Bartholomew's Church and, as such, we respect the employees and facilities the Church so generously shares with us.
