St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, 61st & Quivira in Shawnee, KS was originally the cemetery for St. Joseph’s Parish in Shawnee. The 10 acre cemetery was placed under the care and maintenance of Catholic Cemeteries of Northeast Kansas, Inc. in 1961. St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery was established in the late 1800’s.
As a ministry of the Catholic Church, we bury the dead with dignity and respect; we comfort the living with compassion and concern; and we provide sacred space for remembering.
