They delivered my baby and were amazing! Great staff! They made sure I was comfortable, took the time to get to know me and my son and took their time to help me fill out proper paperwork and answer any questions I had. My son's pediatrician is amazing! They're also very prompt in responding to messages on mychart and reaching out to me via phone as well. I received the best care during my pregnancy/delivery. Keep up the great work!
I honestly did not like my experience here at all. This hospital is like a jail they have a ton of employees at the front entrance making it very difficult to enter. They also scan your driver's license and take a picture without asking. The front staff are also very rude. I went for a blood draw and I felt uneasy the entire time. The phlebotomist wasn't rude but came off as annoyed. Get rid of that useless front security and go back to the simpler times. Cassia hospital in burley doesn't do this. It's trashy.
I had to have a scheduled surgery at the St. Luke’s medical center. My surgery was delayed and so I was in my room for four hours. I’m not upset over the delay I am concerned over behaviors I witnessed while I was waiting. A portion of the nurses and other personnel were at their workstation and in the hallways discussing partying, getting drunk, and other inappropriate conversations. I also was able to hear why all of the other patients surrounding me were in the hospital. To be specific I know that there was a patient next to me that was getting their tonsils and adenoids removed and also dental work done, this person also was allergic to amoxicillin, they had a spanish interpreter, they were underage, and I also know their name. Because the nurses were not shutting the door during intake the entire OR could hear the ailments of all of the patients which is a HIPAA violation. A portion of the nurses and other personnel were flirting and talking about getting drunk and I was feeling like I was in some sort of a frat party.
One star is too much. Lisa, the charge nurse or nurse manager whatever she calls herself is an overbearing narcissist. Her two kids work at St. Luke's in Twin Falls, too, and they all team up and bully the people who come in to visit their dying family members. Lisa threatens to call security for any tiny little thing she doesn't like about you, and yells at you with great disrespect. It's like she hates that anyone comes to visit, because she doesn't want people in her way or something. She doesn't want to be bothered, because I guess she's lazy and has absolutely no polite social skills. She literally yells and threatens to call security all the time, and you can see this happen from some of the other reviews. Lisa didn't make sure my dad had his discharge medicines, so he had to skip his medicines that day until I could find a pharmacy open the following day. That is NOT adequate care. She should be fired. Most of the other staff I met were very kind, but that does not make up for Lisa, because the person in charge is the person with the most power, and Lisa ruins and poisons the well of kindness that the other staff members may try to bring to the facility. Also, my dad's kidneys were failing, and he wasn't eating or drinking much at all. Most of the time, they did not try to feed him even though he could barely lift his arms. While I visited, I always held his water for him to drink, and only a couple other staff would help him eat and drink. Because his kidneys were failing from the treatment they gave him, he was on saline for a few days while they tried to flush the treatment out. When they decided it wasn't really working and he might die, they sent in the people to get a statement from my dad about "Do Not Resuscitate," commonly called DNR. When my dad wanted to allow resuscitation, the doctors took him off the saline because of the small risk of it being too much for his heart and his heart having "run." If there was a "run," they would need to rush him to ICU, and they did not want to be bothered with that. I found out because a nurse told me what was secretly going on. The nurse said that if I wanted my dad to be more comfortable and put back on the saline to help him stay hydrated, I would have to change his orders to Do Not Resuscitate. The nurse basically said they would rather his kidneys fail faster and I lose time with him alive than have the risk that he might need to be resuscitated, because they did not want to do any of the resuscitation procedures. The doctors tried to convince us that DNR was the right option, and really pushed it, but that was not my dad's wishes; he wanted to live. After I understood the game that was being played, I had his orders changed to DNR without my dad's approval, and so they agreed to give him the saline. He was fine on the saline it did not harm his heart, and the saline helped him live comfortably a little longer before he finally passed away at home in hospice care. The doctors treat based on DNR or no DNR, not based on what is right for the patient.
I've been in and out with high bp,heart rate and extreme dizzyness while standing ,for months now! I am beyond stressed, getting up to do stuff with my kids is tough. I've never had these issues before, so it's very out of the ordinary for me. I've had some good drs and also alot of not so good ones. The bad ones really screw it up for the good ones. I had one E.R dr , flat out ask me what I wanted them to do and send in a nurse with a syringe of Ativan without even asking me, I refused the service. Alot of them send me home and say it's my anxiety. I've had anxiety a long time. Never consistently high bp, high heart rate upon standing along with constant dizzyness. I'm beyond fed up and st lukes track record isn't too good. I have a brother in law they sent home repeatedly with issues , until they finally figured out he had 9% kindeny function left by the time they were done. Transplant in his 20s. I know another girl that had a baby there, complained of some issues after she went home, they were dismissed and she died at home. I'm sick of the lack of compassion and empathy some of these people have, if you can't do your job right, take a hike, don't ruin it for the good ones.
St. Luke's scheduling system is a great way to say they hate their patients. Whoever implemented and or approved St. Luke Connect system needs to be fired. The service provides absolutely no helpful information for specialist treatment. The people on the phone have no power to do anything useful.
Any time I've ever been here it's been a good place to go. Anytime my wife has been admitted I've never had problems staying till we were finished. We even had our son here who spent 2 days in the NICU and the staff has always been amazing and very helpful. The food there is really good on a side note.
My son had had pneumonia and waited a long time before he came into the hospital. And was critical and they saved his life. The doctors and all the nurses where excellent.
I had great doctors and nurses an any interaction between the hospital was right on! Of course there are always a few that can upset you, but overall outstanding !!! That is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5! The Cancer Center was wonderful, and caring! Was there for me in their care both at the hospital and at home!!
They take forever when the patient is not dying. We have spent 48 hours to get exams and results and a doctor’s visit so we can get discharge. Nobody knows anything nobody solves anything, is like they don’t care
