With a friend who is getting an ultrasound. Do your self a favor, don't schedule it on a weekend. Got here early 230, per instructions for 3pm appointment. Was just taken in at 345. Felt bad for her, nothing to eat or drink since yesterday at 5pm. No live people at desk, call these numbers. I took picture of the sign, phone on the wall. They need to put info next to phone that is on the wall. She checked in via her phone, called number twice no one came out until 3:35. 1 person doing ultrasounds we were told.
I visited the ER last night and I have to say I was completely impressed with the level of care, compassion and service I received. I've worked in the Health Care field for over 30 years and this was by far a very pleasant experience. Just wanted to say thank you to the ER nurses, radiology tech and PA.
I thought Samaritan Hospital outside of Ft Drum was lackadaisical but my spouses experience was rough at Monroe Campus St Luke. I witnessed a man drop in the crosswalk and rendered aid but when the medical staff was alerted everyone was walking even the wheel chair while he laid on his face. This attitude was reflected in the care my spouse received as an in-patient. It wasn't the worst care but out of all the nurses only two showed actually showed true care and concern. She felt like it was "self care" for the most part , the staff even missed a antibiotic and steroid timed treatment for her bilateral pneumonia. The she asked the shift change nurse about her meds and was told she just had meds and the next dose was the next day. My wife explained she has received nothing since being brought up to the floor beyond the IV she came up with hours ago. She was given her treatment but what system is used to track doses ? This is our forst experience since my military retirement but it was not what we expected looking at the asthetics of the facility. I give 3 stars because she is home and better than when she left 4 days ago. The care is what matters but attention to detail dosing meds and time and treatment of persons does matter as well. We are torn on what to do it's looking like all the medical facilities have 3 star rating with similar reviews going back atleast 2 years. Showing that nothing is being done beside a generic message to call a number or email the reputation team. That's not good.
I had surgery here today & a wonderful experience. All the nurses, doctors, and staff were incredibly kind and attentive. Thank you so much for making me feel safe and well cared for.
Took my brother to the ER there last week, he was in pain from the pelvic area down , his legs was swollen. The er doctor took a scan of his stomach. He basically said he was there for drugs. I asked why his legs were swollen, they told me to have him elevate them. We asked for the discharge papers and left. My brother could barely walk. They should not judge people, the doctor said “you experience pain like this from drugs”. Is this doctor for real. If I could give the rating a zero I would. Very rude and unprofessional ER doctor.
You call this level four a hospital lol. My little sister went in for an IUD, which we figured was misplaced. We had been to her to her gynecologist a week before and they said they could not take it out. I’m not exactly sure the reasoning behind this doctors notion but I believe it’s because it’s misplaced so my sister remained an agonizing pain to the point where… she’s going through two pads and a tampon every hour. So we waited about six hours till we started getting antsy when my little sister began to cry in agony. I searched everywhere for nurses after we pressed the call button 100 times and nobody came. To my suprise when I went into go into the nurses quarter in the hallway, every nurse had a Dunkin’ Donuts cup in her hand food just laughing and giggling. I said why is nobody responding to my sister. Well, we have a lot of patients that are in critical concern right now and she’s really not a top priority . I said well she’s an extreme agony can you please get her something. So eventually 20 minutes later, somebody brought in pain meds and then proceeded to tell us once again then my sister wasn’t important enough for them to take care of immediately but sitting in the hall, gossiping and drinking and eating is more important... After getting upset with the nurse who came in and proceeded to say that to us eventually, we saw a doctor, who then told us that she was going to not remove it because she’s an ER doctor and that’s not her job. her exact words! then when I asked her if she was going to refer somebody, she proceeded to say well. I’ve already spoken to doctors and they can’t do it and then when I asked again, she’s like well nobody’s gonna take it then when I asked again she said oh I have to put the referral in and you have to make the phone call I said OK well are you going to put it in your notes that it’s extremely important she’s like well it’s not life-threatening, but my sister is in excruciating pain. Well I prescribed some pills. that is not an answer to the problem! then she tried to diminish my character when I happen to have worked in the hospital so she wanted me to think that I was stupid. But I know as an ER doctor there’s more that you can do because I’ve been to that hospital before and I’ve had a great ER doctor who’s taking care of me. It’s unfortunate that somebody let this doctor get her degree out of the cereal box and actually practice medicine when she makes it blatantly clear that she doesn’t care about her patients. When I asked her if she can handle it tomorrow her excuse was I have off I get paid hourly. What kind of terrible life skilled people could you put in a hospital with no courtesy. No emotion for living life. Let me just say , you know exactly who you are. We were in room 24 do me a favor rip up your medical degree give up on practicing because it’s pathetic how you treat patients and you don’t deserve to even be allowed in a hospital any longer. Every impatient matters. You should be ashamed of yourself. Let you work in such a low level hospital and don’t take your job. Seriously. Here is the next Pocono medical keep hiring two bit doctors who has no regard for human life.
The male doctor in the ER was extremely rude, cold, and dismissive. Very unprofessional service, he was very awkward about the service for my daughters ear and treated it like it was an inconvenience for him.He clearly did NOT take us seriously! Never have I EVER had treatment like this or made a complaint about a medical professional, but I would absolutely tell anyone to avoid seeing him. Terrible and disappointing service.
From the minute I arrived, to the time I was discharged, my experience at St. Lukes was nothing short of outstanding! I was admitted and my stay lasted for 3 days and every nurse and doctor treated me with kindness and genuine concern. I'd recommend this hospital wholeheartedly.
I brought my 5 year old there in the middle of the night. She had a double ear infection. It was busy and we waited very patiently. I left after 2 hours of waiting in the waiting room with my daughter screaming on the top of her lungs. Not one “nurse” or anyone came to even just ask me if she could have anything to at least ease the pain. They also misdiagnosed my daughter and caused her a lot of pain. They are ruining St Luke’s reputation. Im better off treating my daughter myself.
I came in severe chest pain and couldn't breathe. I'd say that counts as an emergency. And about 10 people who came in after me got called before me. So I want it on record that I left the hospital with severe chest pain and will just call an ambulance to bring me. Cause then I'll get seen at least.
