Regular thrift store. Not among the cheapest but you will always find things cheaper than in stores if you’re willing to look around and spend some time in there. I personally didn’t buy much because I knew there were cheaper stores but it’s always a good idea to stop by to see if they have anything special.
Seriously the worst! I have no idea why they call it a “thrift store” they hike up the prices on things then tell you it’s 50% off so now you are paying slightly above market value. Hunter Biden must be back there pricing these things because only a crackhead could be imagining these prices.
They must have gotten new people to price items. Prices have gone to the higher end, and their Boutique is outrageously high. We’ve considered this store our favorite, but since prices increased, we’ve found other thrift stores we shop at.
Prices used to be good now they are high…donation costs go up??
Very rude staff!! They don't have prices in lots of merchandise and no one helps find out a price. Stick to Goodwill and St Mathews
Shame on them. For an organization that advertises themselves as a charity to help the less fortunate, they are incredibly picky. I have attempted to donate goods and furniture multiple times and they nitpick at every small detail. Furniture that is in well kept, good condition with some very very minor wear.
The manager Jerry shouldn’t be managing this store! He is so rude, I got at this location the worst customer service in my life. He is not trying to help customers AT ALL!!!! It looks like if he doesn’t even care selling or not. He has no idea about customer service, he is working at the wrong place !!! Since I asked for a price about a mattress his first rude answer before telling me the price was, “ but I don’t help taking the mattress to your car” and I wasn’t even asking for help, just wanted to know the price only. He is a lazy big man, he should better stay home and sleep the whole day as lazy as he is !!!
I used to include this place on my weekly To Donate route until two things, one that didn’t happen and one that did. What didn’t happen is anyone ever coming to help me unload my carloads of donations or even pen the door for me when my arms were full. If my presence was acknowledged by volunteers or staff, it was usually with a monosyllabic grunt. Literally every other thrift shop where I donate to has at least one person who helps me unload my car and has a receipt waiting for me when I’m finished. The thing that happened was that I started shopping a bit at all the thrift stores and, after three separate attempts here, I could not believe my eyes at the outrageous prices on everything, even on sale! The organization of the entire store is wretched and it’s unclear where one section starts and another stops or if the organization is anything other than, cautiously stated, loose. I’d be very hard pressed to pay $500 for a chandelier that’s tangled in a rug, another chandelier $400, an errant electrical cord, and an old towel. None of this would be so pronounced or so egregious if it weren’t for a charitable organization that claims to be a thrift store. Apparently, thrifting is for the well-heeled at St. Vincent’s.
This is a quite large place with plenty of interesting items. From glassware, clothing, furniture, books, dvd's, collectibles and some interesting pieces scattered about. Employees and volunteers were pleasant and helpful. For the most part it is well organized but a little crowded in some areas. This just makes the venture interesting and fun because you never know what you might find.
I've been shopping their for 12 years and furnished 3 homes their. today I asked how much for a leather recliner that had yet to be priced. I asked them very nicely how much and they wanted and 175.00 is what the two managers said. I tried to negotiate but They would not so I asked if I could have 2-3 minutes as I want to check the internet and make sure it was worth 175.00. He said sure very nicely. About 2-3 minutes later I approached the same two men and said 175.00 was Ok and lets write it up. At that point the men said the price was now 300.00 dollars not 175.00. I asked why and got no answer. I asked if them if they were joking right? then I heard a mumbled "because your white ass something". I turned around and left immediately as I was in total shock. The two African American men were dead set on discriminating, using a nasty attitude as it was repulsing even for me. Pure discrimination in a public place especially the church is disgusting. I am calling a lawyer as soon as I finish this post as I cant find out who even runs the place. Very embarrassing.
