The staff here 99% of the time are really helpful and accommodating. Some of the theaters have some broken chairs that need to be fixed. Every theater is infested with moths. Sometimes, there is no one checking tickets, so I would say not a super secure theater, although there is a security guard there in busy days. Overall, most movie experiences here were good!
We went to the afternoon movie and joined the Premiere club. It was worth it. We walked in, went past the line waiting for tickets, scanned the phone and went right to the theater. The recliner chairs were almost too comfortable. I was told that I was napping waiting for the movie. Easy to view the movie and the sound was perfect. The staff was friendly, parking was easy and plentiful. We'll be back to see more movies at this great venue.
Very clean and the staff was courteous. The exception being the tall bearded caucasian fellow behind the counter between 600 or 630 PM. Throwing ticket stubs at us instead of handing them to us. Otherwise I would have given AMC four stars.
Still kind of a nice facility. But things are starting to show wear and tear. The seat next to me has a sticky button and wouldn't recline, while the seat in the other hand had a corner of the upholstery that was threadbare. I'm wondering when AMC will sink some money into the place and give it a makeover. Seems always busy when we go, but is still dated.
Excellent seats no matter where you sit. There is one problem however, we have seen two movies in two different theaters at this location and during the movie the front right speaker makes a buzzing sound at times. Not sure if it's a technical glitch but it is fairly annoying during quiet parts. The rest of this sound system is outstanding.
We went out for lunch before our movie this week, and Southington was great! This was my go to theater when I was younger! Great time!
Had to leave in the middle of our movie. Irritating chemical smell started coming out of nowhere. Went out see smoke in the theater and were told “environmental services says it’s okay.” Person next to us had an asthma attack and also had to leave. The place is falling apart and dirty. Shame, been going here for years but they really let the place go. I won’t be back.
AMC Southington 12 exceeded my expectations! The theater was clean and well-maintained, and the seats were incredibly comfortable. The sound system was top-notch, making the movie truly come alive. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant visit. I'll definitely be returning for more movie nights!
went to see the era taylor swift movie was disappointed when we got there because they were all out of the special popcorn containers and cups that were suppose to be for the movie which should not have happened since it was opening weekend. They should have ordered more knowing it was going to be busy :
Great theater. Good reclining seats. We saw Suzume with Japanese audio, and subtitles. It was quiet at some parts. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because when it was quiet I could hear the movie to my left and my right but not my movie. May need more sound blocking on the walls, but other than that it was great!
