From the beginning I have been very impressed with Step Ahead Physical Therapy. I never knew it even existed until my young grandson was going there for his therapy. Andrea Heafitz has been a pleasure to work with as my physical therapist. I have miserable arthritis in the lumbar region of my back. Andrea’s extensive background, knowledge, kindness, and professionalism has made it all bearable. She has taught me specific exercises and stretches that have made a huge difference in my well being. Her hands on approach, guidance, and explanations are exactly what I needed. Andrea listens and pays attention to my individual needs and is a joy to work with every week. Step Ahead has a great location, friendly atmosphere, and offers massage, pilates, chiropractor, stretching, and more. I’m so happy to have found them.
This is my second experience with Andy and Step Ahead PT- first was a year ago after rotator cuff surgery and again presently post knee replacement. Andy is extremely attentive to each patient, while still managing a busy practice. You never feel rushed, always time for questions. And can’t beat the view of the harbor! He is excellent at soft tissue work, which is so important post surgery to prevent scar tissue build up. He takes the time to know what your goals are and what activities you enjoy and want to get back to doing safely. Very encouraging during the recovery and rehab process, which is so important because it is a process which is just as tough mentally as it is physically. I could go on and on! Love it there, although I prefer no more surgeries!
I have had the pleasure and the privilege of being treated by Andy and his staff on several occasions. He takes the time and effort to elicit the appropriate information to correctly diagnose and develop a plan of care. For each episode, his interventions and treatments were very effective and enabled me to resume my normal activities. Andy and his associates are professional, caring and compassionate providers. I sprained BOTH ankles and could hardly walk for months, let alone do anything I enjoy. I've been seeing Andrea for a few months and now I can balance, my pain is gone and I'm strong enough for yoga and running. Im so glad that I selected Step Ahead Physical Therapy to help rehab my torn calf muscle. Andy fit me into their schedule very quickly which was very important to me. In my opinion, Andrea has been more valuable to my recovery than my Orthopedic.
