About

STEP's Mission is to strengthen our community by responding to the basic emergency needs of individuals and families in St. Louis Park.

Description

STEP provides the following services:

1. Food Shelf: provides the most nutritious and culturally-appropriate food available to clients 1-2 times monthly depending upon financial need.

2. Clothes Closet: provides gently used clothing twice a week for clients.

3. Emergency Financial Assistance: provides help with housing expenses based upon assessment by STEP's social workers.

4. Transportation: provides rides to medical and food shelf appointments

5. Seasonal Support: provides gift and food support for holidays, back to school, birthdays.

6. Crisis Support and Referral Services: clients can meet with STEP social workers to identify how other needs can be met and talk through issues affecting their lives.

Kindest, most compassionate staff ever! Such a great place and I'm so grateful for all that they do for so many around the area!
Helps families, elderly, and single adults, etc. with food, clothing, even supplies for birthday' s wood holidays.
They're there for peeps in need. I love to give to them. Such hard working individuals trying to help others with their personal struggles. Times can get so tough for souls. Thank you for your goodness STEP!!!
Very helpful and full of resources for families that need help with groceries, there's a food shelf there by appointment. Also sometimes have vegan and vegetarian options, also lactose free milk. Resources like bus card's, gas cards, low income housing and section 8. School options too. College. Call them and make an appointment for a Step worker. I am a single parent of one and they are always willing to help or point me in the right direction for what I need.
There are people in this world who care. never forget that. if you need a concrete example of this, come to STEP. they prove the old adage is correct, we are all in this together. The staff at STEP are kind, helpful, respectful, knowledgeable and efficient. They provide top quality food items and other essential goods and services to those in sometimes desperate situations who qualify. They are compassionate and accommodating. I'm grateful
Hard times, calls for making calls. Step is a program for helping your family with food. I cannot tell you how Thankful I am to have such caring loving people to help you and your family out on hard times such as these. Truly- they are a blessing from the community to helping you out! Amazing community outreach supplying St Louis Park citizens with a clothing closet, transportation services, counseling, and groceries. They partner with local grocery stores, farms, and both faith and secular communities to provide a large supply and variety of foods throughout the year. The staff is amazing - the services they provide with care and commitment to clients is stunning. The organization is truly committed to empowering people to help them get back in their feet in times of adversity.
They are very friendly, helpful, and professional. They don't make you feel small because you need help. they are great! The place is clean, organized and the food is hear and a try blessing
