Excellent selection of store made foods, both ready to eat and heat up at home! Also a fantastic selection of bakery goods, try the store made brownies, they are delicious! Store is often very busy so be prepared for that.
It was OK but I expect a lot more from Stew Leonard's. Not a single employee engaged, smiled, or tried to help. An employee actually bumped into me as he was rushing to go somewhere else in the store. Place looked a bit dark and in need of a refresh. Not impressed on this visit.
Very unique experience. It is like going to a theme park. There are many displays and food samplings throughout the store. One unique experience is that many aisles thought out the store has animatronic shows. There is also a little animal farm in the parking lot. Besides that, there is a food court selling all kinds of cooked food and dessert.
My son loves the ice cream and the petting zoo. Stews has amazing ice cream, amazing meats, amazing everything. Great place to take your kid. The little petting zoo has some goats and chickens. Love going to stews with the family
This year the pumpkins are beautiful! The displays are so cute! There’s lots of places for kids to enjoy pics and some pumpkin picking! Stop by….great prices! Tons of different types of pumpkins and pumpkin carving kits. Love this time of the year in Stew Leonard’s!
I don't live close by, so coming here has always been a special experience. I hadn't been here since pre covid and I immediately noticed 2 things. Now I know prices of groceries have gone up, but I seriously had to put items back here because of the pricing. Rice cakes $7.., Cheerios,$7...some produce was 3 times as much as the local grocery store. I also remember being greeted at every corner by an employee who smiled. The only interaction I received was when checking out. I still find the pre made foods and meats to be fresh and delicious, but feel some of the charm of shopping at Stews has gone away.
Let me just start with the little interactive things they have scattered around the entire store. I love that it’s not an aisle set-up. You have to walk through like an IKEA. Duck singing ABC’s. I love that they change the swinging Mickey for every holiday it’s so cute. Food is good, they have good sushi. I love sushi. Sushi good. Sushi yummy.
I’ve always loved shopping at Stew Leonards. When I lived in New York, there was one five minutes from my house. When I moved to Connecticut, I found out there was one located in Danberry. Huge parking lot, just be careful when driving. The aisles are narrow and some people can’t drive. The store is supposed to go in one direction, or at least that’s what I have assumed over the years. Be wary of random shoppers flying the wrong way with their carts. The store is a little pricey for certain items, but you get what you pay for. All of their fresh foods are top quality. Their prepared foods are always a hit. Very good recipes and ingredients make their food stand out. They sometimes have samples but not when I went today. Lots of little entertainment for the kids as they are stuck there with their parent shopping. They’ve added a self check out to let the process go a little smoother. If you have never been here, definitely stop in. It is a shopping experience. Five stars!
Attractive and good quality store. Fun animatronics all over that as a regular I almost forget are there, until some hits a button to make them sing! Clean store, friendly staff. Update: now has more self-check out counters. Update 2: the self-check out is NOT my favorite thing at all... ug...I prefer humans!!
This review specifically for the ice cream area of the front of store. Monitor says Sunday, says Hot Fudge. The staff was extremely rude today. Saying multiple times we don’t have hot fudge, ignore the menu screen, that they don’t sell sundays even though monitor says otherwise. The sign in front of the store says customer is always right, yet this employee made it a point to tell us to ignore menu and just order ice cream that he has told management many times and they refuse to remove from menu and for us customer to just ignore. The ice cream was good. But even the menu that says cherries you don’t get cherry you get some hard shell. Anyways my advice is if you don’t do something or don’t carry something take it off the menu board. But don’t give customers an attitude when asking for something that is displayed
