Stillwater Pond State Park

Amazing place if you want to see some fall colors. The lake offers beautiful view around mid October for Fall Foliage. The lake is widely used for fishing and kayaking. The vicinity is quite calm and full of serenity. No as such place for parking, but you can use the inner Stillwater road to park your cars. One of the great places in Torrington.

Several bald eagles nest here and can be seen regularly. Great place to read and relax.

The water was quiet and still today and all the fishermen were popping fish seems like a little bit of trout and mostly Bass the ones that I saw were large mouth

Stillwater Pond is a nice place to relax, do some fishing, kayaking, and the like. It's not very large, but it does have a boat ramp. There isn't a lot of easy access for people who want to walk along the pond and there aren't any benches, so you'll need to bring a chair. The parking at the boat launch is small, but it looks like it could fit maybe 8 vehicles or so depending on how people park. The pond is stocked with trout, but I haven't had a lot of luck aside from panfish and bass. There is a waterfall at one end of the pond that is nice. The parking by the waterfall is tight though, it only fits about 2 vehicles. And be aware that black bears do like to roam around the pond. The bears keep to themselves as long as you respect their space.

Love coming here in the summer for dip. Great hang out spot on a hot summer day with friends could spend hours swimming here.
