There many good things to list as well as bad. They need total reform on the public online reporting . the webpage should be obstacle free, reports should not be declined and also cell phones or devices should not be blocked to report issues. And there should not be a time cap to make police report for that day. They should make the process of communication user friendly. Get the cops that don't wanna use a gun to be dispatcher and online report consolidators. For the most part good job of doing your service to community.
I figured no one‘s ever going to leave a good review so I might as well put this in. I was walking and came across a distressed elderly woman who seem to have signs of Alzheimer’s. Called into 911 and they were there in less than 5 minutes. Officer Martinez was professional and you could tell he cared. Grateful to have great police officers like him around!
I got my packages stolen off my front porch. Made a police report online. I got a email from them saying that a vehicle license plate is a good evidence. An officer called me to gather information. I turned in my evidence the next day. A few months later investigation team called me and told me sorry there's nothing they could do about it. I was shocked. We pay taxes and I feel like the system has fail many of us. I want justice so I can press charges on these thieves. I spent a lot of money on my packages that I wasn't able to get a reimbursement back. I'm just confused.... what happened to the part where they said a vehicle license plate is a good evidence? I want people to be aware of it. Basically having cameras is useless. They won't go after these thieves and look into ur case.
I called the police for domestic violence. Long story short, two officers were dispatched one male, one female. They seemed irritated when they got to me. The female and the male officer let me shakily explain my story. They then followed me to my dwelling to talk to my boyfriend separately. Next they somewhat mediated both of us. So I demanded to make a domestic violence report. The female officer unsympathetically told me that "it does not work like that". Then she told me that if it's so bad why don't I "just leave?" She went on to belittle both of us. I felt unheard and helpless. If I didn't think that I needed the police I would never have called them they pretty much wasted all of our time. I expected with her being a woman to be more sympathetic towards domestic violence but she was cold and uncaring. Stockton Police Department needs to train officers in domestic violence matters especially the women because that female officer really sucked. Experienced, DV counselors know that people cannot just leave most times especially when there are children involved due to fear, custody laws, financial struggles, and simply not having anywhere to go because let's say someone doesn't have family/ friends on this part of the country... And this is not the first time that I have called this agency for domestic violence issues. They usually take like 40-45 minutes to respond. Another time an officer came by just to see if things 'died down". I told him well yeah he and his friend left my apartment because I told him I was calling the cops. You took too long.
Citizens need to understand that Stockton PD is grossly understaffed. I've lived in the city since 1982 and I saw one incident of an officer harassing my neighbor. I walked over, stood by until the officer asked what I wanted. I told him I got his badge number and wanted to witness the harassment. He acted embarrassed and left. Most people wouldn't believe how many stupid calls police get. If you have a seriously dangerous situation, say you hear gun shots fires. Police will show up fast. Don't do this frivolously. I see some one in my back yard, I'll fire a gun into the ground...shots fired. Don't shoot at the person. Police won't respond to burglar alarms unless two burglar units go off. They don't send police to burglaries, you go on line and fill out a report. The department is understaffed and in many cases it's pointless to call them unless you need a report for insurance or your life is in danger but in this town only a truly naive person would rely entirely on the police or sheriff and if you're none white you might not want to call even then since Stockton officers carry the same baggage as those in other cities. I was a police officer decades ago and things were different then. Today, police are over-armed and under-trained in use of non-lethal force, and American society is generally imbued with institutional racism. Just the other day, Stockton PD and the Sheriff -~Coroner were accused of covering up a homicide using excessive force of a Hispanic male two years ago by police. This seems to happen with sickening regularity almost everywhere.
Went through a dui checkpoint in a suspended listened and I asked the officer who wrote the situation to do an inventory, he guaranteed me it would get done by the police department and my $1,000 head unit was still stolen by the shady ,unprofessional towing company “Larry “ was the name of the towing company manager I believe unless he was lying about that . Sad when the police department does business with shady towing company’s .Stockto place department is pathetic , a joke of a pd.
Welcome to where all the cops who got terrible scores on their pelletB test work!! Seriously, fun fact of the day! It’s the only department that will take you with such a low score on such an important test and it shows in the officers work. Most of the officers are kids and you’d think that with a city being so dangerous you’d want the best out here but unfortunately you’ll be getting the ones who want to “see action” and treat every single person like a violent criminal. If the Stockton Police Department wants change in the city, it starts with them.
I have to give our Stockton Police five stars for showing up everyday and protecting the good citizens of this town. We need to respect our men and women in blue. I don't see anyone else putting their life on the line to tackle the crime in this city.
They don't care about DV victims instead they leave them with get a restraining order not caring about the trauma and struggle the victim goes through and allows the abuser to continue to harass the victim. They don't care about the people at all.
All of the negative posts on here make me sick. The police at all locations do more in a day to protect and serve there communities then any of you negative nacy's. Do the always get the right guy no but that's for the judge and jury to decide. I to once looked at officers in a negative light because i served time in prison that i didn't deserve to, but i was not perfect and if i hadn't gone for one thing i would have ended up there for another im sure of it. But now days i follow all laws and guess what my perspective has changed. So if you have hard feelings towards these men and woman maybe you should take a look at your self and ask why because every day they put their lives on the line not just for law abiding citizens but for all citizens. I for one am thankful to know they are around thank you for protecting and serving your community.
