Where to begin? I was halfway through a pretty comprehensive reconstructive dental plan, when my original provider could not continue care. Stowe Family Dentistry stepped right up, and took over seamlessly. They are fully equipped with the best equipment, including in house CAT and in house production of dental prosthetics. Dr. John is an incredible guy; warm, friendly and kind. He explains everything in detail and takes great pride in his work. He is an extremely talented practitioner. The facilities are impeccable, the staff friendly and kind. I am not an easy patient, but SFD put me at ease and made me feel very comfortable. I am very pleased with all aspects of this practice, and would highly recommend them to friends and family.
This place is becoming all about squeezing every dollar they can from you. Unfortunate. We won't be back. Decided to become "out of network" for insurance. Basically, this means you're gonna go out of pocket up front and get only a partial reimbursement for the services you receive. You won't know ahead of time how much you're gonna have to pay. $135 cleaning was reimbursed $80. Proportionally, that's kind of a lot. What's the point of dental insurance if we basically pay on both ends...? Charged me a fee for having to miss an appointment due to a personal issue. I called them to alert them that I'd have to miss as soon as I knew, just not with enough notice per their "rules". I take responsibility here to an extent. But also, It's not like a no call no show on my end. I called in the morning to cancel a late afternoon appointment. Sold my wife on a fluoride treatment and assured her that delta "absolutely" covers it. It didn't, another $45 for something that probably cost $4 and took 60 seconds...
I had a dentist that I liked, but they were out of network, so I did some research and found Stowe Family Dentistry who took my insurance. I called and they had a 8 month waiting period for new patients. So I filled out the paperwork and patiently waited the 8 months. I walked in to the office today and they said, "looks like you have NE delta dental, do you know we are out of network for NE delta dental? we dropped them a month ago".... I would have been nice of Stowe Family Dentistry to give me a heads up before I took the afternoon off work, cancelled my appointments at my old dentist and waited for 8 months for an appointment...
Echo the recent comments about them squeezing customers for money. We were effectively scammed by their change in policy. Details below: Before our appointment we confirmed that our insurance would be accepted and cover all costs. They confirmed. When it came time for the appointment, the service was okay. The problem is, we were billed 100s of dollars. Apparently there was a "change in their billing policy." When asked if they sent out notifications to their customers about the change, they said "no we didn't." We requested for them to split the difference of what we owed and they said there are "hidden details" and unable to.
I've been with Stowe Family Dentistry since 2013 -over ten years- back when they were on Mountain Road. Dr. John has always been so kind, patient and supportive of not only myself but the people that I refer to their office patients, family and friends.Their space is beautiful, well maintained, and the staff is always so kind. As someone who practices in the holistic health sphere- I've always appreciated that they are open to oral health interventions beyond the typical western dental paradigm they've never rolled their eyes when I mention oral probiotics, system inflammation, diet, and nanohydroxyapatite. While I'm not a huge fan of dental work- the team here makes the process less fear inducing, more comfortable and even enjoyable. I'm very thankful that they are a part of our community.
Receptionists were extremely helpful over the phone and got my husband in for an appointment straight away, even though we were not patients. Very happy with our experience overall.
The client care has drastically changed with the retirement of Chris. Some of the office staff and hygienists are rude and unkind to children. Recently, my daughter had a accident causing two, permanent teeth significant damage. Michelle offered one appointment that I physically did not have enough time to get to based on my work location and where my daughter attends school. She then explained that there isn’t anymore appointments and the office is closed the following week for April vacation. I had to be assertive and advocate for my daughter to see a dentist for her unexpected injury. Michelle was rude, curt, and unempathetic.
Kind, clean, kid friendly, rarely late, never rushed. Sticking with them as I know I won't get the same care elsewhere. Good people. :
The Stowe Family Dentistry scheduling dept has now wasted at least 4 hours of my time and plenty of gas, by scheduling me for appts on days that the ortho team isn’t even in the office. If there were another dentist nearby taking new patients I would be long gone. The only reason I’m not giving them 1 star is because the hygienists, dentists and ortho staff are always incredibly friendly and very professional. VERY FRUSTRATING. I don’t appreciate having my time wasted.
I went here today and had 3 fillings done. Chelsea is a great dentist, and pain free. Everyone in this office is super nice. I moved here from Dallas,Texas last December. I am so glad I found this place. It's better than any I have been to in Dallas, and a whole lot friendlier. I highly recommend this place. And this may sound weird, but I can't wait to go back in 6 months.
