and
The Rec Center at 620 Tyler St.
Hours year round:
Every T&Th 3:30-4:30 at the Y.
and
Every Wednesday night-- 7pm class, 8pm open fencing at the Rec Ctr. Class participants fence the open hour free.
The T&Th classes at the Y are intended for children 6-16 years of age.
The Rec night classes are intended for kids as well as all others.
Those interested in the open fencing program that are not a part of the classes, are required to provide their own equipment that must be approved. (E.g. No sharp or stiff blades, and certainly masks without bibs are prohibited.) Full fencing attire is recommended including knickers; furthermore, everyone interested in the open fencing program must have had formal fencing instruction in the past, and be able to express the priority rules of foil and sabre as the case may be. The customs and traditions of fencing will be strictly enforced.
All members of the classes at either location will be provided equipment for all activities.
Sneakers that do not mark the floors are encouraged, and clothing that can be used to stretch in is recommended.
Any and all fencing needs are available through the program at discounted prices.
