I walked in and unbeknownst to me the employees had changed. I have come to Styles Encore for about a 1yr. I was referred to them because when I would go to Plato's Closet my items would be too expensive for them to purchase. Nevertheless, I came in and I gave her. So that I could sell some items that I had because I have purchased and sold to them. The two young ladies that were there, or unable to do buys. But I was in such a situation. They decided to take a step out on faith and make a phone call on my behalf. I will not go into details, but what I will say is that when you read all of these reviews I hope that this one trumps out any of the negative reviews, because they honestly went above and beyond and they did not have to. I am not entitled to any special privilege, but I can tell you that I will continue to spend my money and bring my items to them and I accept what they give me because I understand that it has to be resold, and I have never felt like they underhanded me or undermined me on a purchase . Staff was slow and I had to point them to my clothes because it took so long and they were so lost. They then told me after 3 hours that my clothes were rejected because of wear and stains. When I had a brand new pair of lululemon leggings & Lily dress never worn. Remarkable how poor this establishment is run. & I never leave reviews.
Today was my first time ever selling cloths at this place and I will say I’m not pleased. When I walked in the women at the registers acted like they didn’t want to greet me. The lady who took my ID was rude and unpleasant. I’m unsure what their issues were but I did not feel welcomed at all. However, I proceeded to try to do business with this place and hoped that when I had return maybe the ladies would fix their nasty attitudes. I finally got a text after two hours that my sell was ready. When I got there the young lady that was standing at the front register in front of the door did not greet me. I guess them greeting customers is below all of their pay grades; anyways I greeted her and told her I was there to pick up. She asked what bag I told her. Tell me why when I get my bag they didn’t even buy anything from me. I inquired what was the reason the young lady gave a guess and shared that my cloths were “Kid Cloths” like really. I’m a grown woman and haven’t wore children cloths in over 20 years! So then she went to grab the lady who had the terrible attitude when I first came to the store. She was trying to tell me the same thing. I explained to them that my cloths were indeed adult clothing. She went through my items because it seems to me that whoever did it earlier was lazy or did t bother to truly check my items. I ended up selling 5 items out of like 20 pieces. They claim they don’t take swim suits and then told me a pair of my shorts were too short but honestly they weren’t because I don’t even wear shorts that are extra short. They were thigh length. I tried to look around the store from where I was standing to see what they are actually buying and from what I could see was that this place is full of it. The women act like they don’t like their jobs and are stand offish. I will never come here again and it’s mainly due to the nasty attitudes and poor customer service!
I have so more success at the Stuart location. They are also much quicker. I’m just not impressed with this store, the manager or its workers. Owner also seems to pay much less on items than other franchises. They rate on brand and Jane opportunity to go low on condition quality. All I know is Stuart pays much much higher. Shame.
Not worth the time and effort when trying to sell your items to them. Big waste of time on numerous occasions. Never going back. They seem annoyed and overburdened. They have a certain number of bins and if they’re being used they will turn you away. I returned later and noticed they accepted numerous bags of clothing to check and they weren’t in bins, so they will lie to you. Lol, they don’t accept items with wear. The entire store is full of old and worn items and it smells like it the moment you enter.
Do NOT sell to this store. I brought in 4 pairs of barely worn, very high end designer shoes, and the offer they gave me was just insulting. You’re better off selling on Poshmark or eBay.
Bought a whole bag of Lilly and a Tiffany bracelet the teenagers working buzzed through my order and didn’t buy anything they have no experience looking at clothing or Jewelry I miss the old staff
The staff never once welcomed me or asked to help while my daughter and I looked around. Once I was ready to check out, how rude this staff really is was shown. The lady never said a word but the total, then I asked to look at a purse that was behind the counter. Instead of telling me about the bag, she corrected me on the color I thought it was and then when I mentioned I was not going to take it due to multiple scratches on the leather which completely devalues the bag she rolled her eyes and threw it back behind her. Then once I put my card in the reader, she reaches over and began to answer the questions on the card reader for me. After all of that she pushed the shirt I had just bought with my daughters necklace across the counter and said they do not use bags. I asked for a reusable bag but they don’t have those either. In all horrible, while never be back, and do not recommended at all!
UPDATE 12/31/22: I went back to the store and spoke with the owner, she was very willing to help me figure out what happened and went back to review the store footage. I got paid for hte items that were misplaced and she seemed very understanding the entire time. 12/29/22: Sellers be cautious when going to this store in particular. Go through your entire bag of what they did not buy before leaving to make sure everything is in there. I dropped off two full bags of clothes and shoes yesterday, it took them over 24 hours to look through everything. When I went to go pick up my stuff to see if they bought any thing they said they couldn't buy any of it. I went home to go through the clothes and figure out what I was going to end up giving to Goodwill or keeping, and I noticed a few of the items I know I put in there were missing. I thought I was mistaken so I dug through my entire closet and laundry bin to see if maybe I forgot to put it in the bags, but I could not find them any where. The 3 items missing were a ZARA blazer, a Vera Wang coat, and a pair of black Stuart Weitzman heels. I'm not sure if it got misplaced into another persons pile, if it was taken, or they intentionally did this because the bags had so many clothes and thought it would go unnoticed. Sellers be warned.
Staff is very rude and inconsiderate. I asked for help to get the stuff out of my car because I’m pregnant and can’t lift anything and the lady behind the desk let out a huge sigh and asked someone else to help. I brought them brands that are listed on their website they were in need of in great condition and some with even tags still on them and they took 5 items. Told me it would take “several hours” because I had other buyers ahead of me. Got called back within 30 mins. The location in Stuart is much better with a friendlier staff.
