A beautiful station, I really enjoy spending time here. Plenty of places to shop and eat, as well as plenty of trains. A great place to grab a train as well as wait for your train. The bathrooms were clean and large. I didn't have to wait to use them. I found it easy to find my way around, and the large building was really cool!!
Union Station in Washington DC is as beautiful as it is impressive. Striking & interesting architecture, intriguing features, and lots of options for food & drink.
Beautiful station. Security is everywhere and it's very safe. Couldn't be cleaner. The building is a historic place. Great for a long layover if you are traveling by train. Many options for grabbing something to eat
Union Station is nice. Lots of restaurants. Lots of stores to buy memorabilia. Close to many other historic locations.
Union station is as beautiful as it is historic. There are many beautiful details in the ornamentation. Unfortunately with the pandemic the place hasn't exactly been the best of places. And an unfortunate amount of homeless people out in the cold who need help... I wish I knew how to help those in need. Either way, Union Station is a beautiful place, and seeing the grand hall is breathtaking in person.
Easy access to Union Station for Amtrak trains. Good food options just outside the station. Super easy access and good timing on train.
The building itself is very cool one problem is the lack of facilities. If you are there for an event and are coming in to use the bathroom and catch the subway good luck. The only general public bathroom is in the train departure area in the very back and the line likely to be very long. Couldn’t even spring for a couple Don’s John’s? I know they don’t want to attract the homeless but guess what, they are there anyway. Another firsthand experience was catching the red eye train to NYC at 4:30AM. Parked in the US garage at the rear only to find station doors locked with a sign closed till 5AM. Had to guess our way around front with no directions or lit walkways. Found one unlocked door. Thought it was just me not understanding but when we got to the back where the trains depart we witnessed people forcing the door open from the parking garage and about 2 dozen people came in to catch the same train. Unbelievable. The rest of the trip was great!
Very big. I love the charming central hall.
Beautiful building, great architecture, lots of stores and businesses. Walgreens in the basement has great DC tourist gift items on the cheap. However it was impossible to just find a place to sit. At 5:00 am ~ there was literally no where. Also a lot of mentally disturbed people at this location. The bathrooms were nasty. No phone charging station, no universal Wi-fi although some individual businesses provide it.
Station has all transportation options you need. Covid destroyed the business, especially the food are below it. My number one issue with union station is the lack of security. Walgreens has special police hired inside the store but all around the station you are confronted by vagrants and watching criminal activity everywhere, it’s not safe.
