Magnificent architecture located at the end of downtown Toronto. This huge train station works as a transit hub of Toronto. The rapid shuttle train connecting the station and the airport was convenient. I could easily go from the airport to my Airbnb place by the airport train and the city subway. Also, east of the station is the bus terminal where buses like Greyhound or Flixbus stop.
Union Station is not only a captivating architectural masterpiece but also the bustling heart of Toronto's transportation network. As the central hub for Via Rail, UP Express, and GO Train services, it offers unparalleled connectivity to various destinations. The station's historic charm is immediately apparent upon entering, with its elegant architecture and impressive interior design. Navigating the station is made easy with clear signage and helpful staff who can assist with any inquiries. Whether you're catching a Via Rail train for a longer journey, hopping on the convenient UP Express to Toronto Pearson International Airport, or commuting with the efficient GO Train system, Union Station provides a seamless and efficient experience. The station also boasts an array of amenities, including shops, cafes, and eateries, allowing for a comfortable wait or a quick refreshment. With its central location and excellent transportation connections, Union Station is an essential part of Toronto's vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.
I recently visited Union Station in Toronto and was impressed by how clean and organized it was. The station exuded a sense of cleanliness and efficiency, making for a pleasant experience overall. However, my only complaint was the lack of clarity regarding which entrance is open during the early morning hours. While I understand the station's concern about potential vandalism and unwanted visitors, it would be beneficial if there were clearer signs or announcements to guide visitors seeking to catch the Union Pearson Express in the early morning. This would ensure a smoother and more convenient experience for travelers. Nonetheless, Union Station remains an impressive transportation hub with its cleanliness and organization, and with a few improvements in communication, it could become an even more welcoming and visitor-friendly space.
I've always found my way around eventually, if only disoriented for a moment. I've also found any staff politely obliging our directions when asked. Union has been a work in progress ongoing, for what seems several years, intensely, but somehow they manage to keep the flow of travel without much delay. All of the renovations are active proof of how willing the TTC and Go Transit are to please us, the public. The art displays are monumental, and the art deco, architecture, is beautiful inside and out! There's multiple purchase options for travel whether personal or machine, and they're easy to find. Coffee and good food are close by, as well as bathroom amenities. There's multiple exits if someone is a smoker, and easy entry back in to catch a bus or train, with umpteen monitors displaying arrivals or departures, and the flow between transfers is usually within a reasonable limit to adjust to in proceeding further. It's kept very clean considering the size and scope of this place, as it also has many attached shopping area's among the catacombs. This location is iconic, and will remain for many years ahead!
the station is very big, some parts are still under construction, but everything is very clean, sometimes I feel lost, some coffee shops are closed I hope everything is restored soon, it is necessary , because when you travel outside the city you need to buy something to drink and eat but the rest is under control
After all the time and money Metrolinx spent it's difficult to argue it wasn't a complete and utter waste. A confusing warren of stairs, locked doors and to few entrances. How it God's name it is any better?
The staff here are amazing and very helpful but the general public here is the worst. I had to wait 15 minutes to just get on the elevator and almost missed the Go train. People crowd the elevators and do not care for those who actually need them. I was waiting with my baby and an elderly couple as people pushed passed us. I got annoyed and just pushed through and allowed the couple to follow me in or else we would have been there for a while. If I didn’t have my stroller I would have used the stairs instead.
Love the redesigned station. A new food court and very spacious common areas throughout. It took a long time to do, but it was quite worth it at the end. Still not done, but I am already loving what I am seeing!
It got better with the second platform that was added a few years back. However it is crowded and not that functional. The decore is nice and with the new lights looks quite nice.
The union station is Toronto's most important subway station, an important hub for connecting railways, highways and subways. Whether you are in or out of the subway station, you will find it easy to find the place you are going.
