Wonderful stay at this affordable motel! Woman at front desk was super friendly. Beds were comfy, there was no clock except on microwave. Mini fridge was nice to have. Shower was instantly hot, good water pressure. Pool was closed in January but kids enjoyed the hot tub although they did say it was hotter than others they’ve been in and only tolerated about 5 min, temp is probably fine for adults though! Breakfast was grab and go style-donuts, apples/bananas, yogurt, oatmeal packets, bars, juice. Great location, short drive to Sedona shuttle sites and pink jeep tour site. Would definitely stay again!
Great affordable place to stay if you're hiking in the area. Thor yes, that's his name at the front desk was just amazing and very enthusiastic about the area. Anything you need to know he'll tell you about it and more. This man loves his guests and he'll take care of them the best he can.Rooms: 4/5
I tried to rent a room for tonight 2/13 and the lady that was working the front office was extremely rude. She judged me for my dog and was about to turn us away because of the breed of one of my dogs. We instantly left and found a much better place. They claim that they are pet friendly but they are not
A price/quality 5 star. Exceptional staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Pool and hot tub. Simple and nice breakfast included.Rooms: 5/5
Absolutely wonderful little motel! It does have a vintage feel to it, but everything is super clean and works great. The beds were very comfy with really nice blankets. Water pressure for showers was great, too. Plus there was a microwave and decent sized minifridge. I know the lodge was fully booked while we were there and you're relatively close to the road, but noise was never an issue. The front desk staff were amazing and gave us such great food recommendations, plus really fun conversation! The pool was closed while we were there in November, but the hot tub and two fire places were open! Nothing better after a long hike than a hot soak to relax the muscles, then a cold drink in front of a fire. They also do offer a very basic yet yummy continental breakfast for free. You really cannot beat the location - it's within walking distance to a large supermarket, several yummy restaurants, and even a laundromat. Plus it's only a 5 min drive to one of the park shuttle lots, meaning you can skip the battle of finding parking at the major popular trails, or just drive 2 min to find several less popular but still amazing trails with beautiful views. You're also just down the road from local art markets, souvenir shops, a movie theater, cheaper gas, Sedonuts get the vortex cinnamon roll!, the Coffeepot restaurant amazing waffles!, and Thunder Mountain bike rentals. You'll definitely hit traffic going into downtown Sedona if you want to visit those shops, so while it's a short distance it is a longer slow drive, but well worth the trade off. We definitely loved staying here and when we one day come back to Sedona, we'll stay at the Sugar Loaf again!
This was such a nice little motel. Very quiet and close to everything. Thor, the manager, even offered to build us a fire in the fireplace.Rooms: 5/5
We passed thru Sedona hauling a 24ft trailer so parking was an issue everywhere we went. This place had an easy pull thru right by the main road AND was pet friendly! Very friendly staff and fresh coffeenot pod coffee. We will definitely be back.
It is a cute mom and pop hotel with old school charm. Rooms were clean. Decor and furniture all dated but not so much that it ruins the experience. It just feels like a $50 hotel. The pool is not heated and was filthy dirty. Pictures are not accurate. The hot tub was not heating so it was very cold. They should update the site to reflect non-working utilities. Staff was kind of friendly but mot super bubbly. Breakfast was sufficient but in a weird/awkward location/small space. Some simple updates and this place would be so retro cool.
Probably the best water pressure in a shower ever had at a hotel and I have traveled to just about every state in the USA! Really nice! New carpets, clean nice towels, pretty comfy bed not bad, no hidden fees when checking in just one price.. nice people.. and Starbucks is across the street.. lol
Clean room. Friendly staff. It has a nice vintage feel. Enjoyed my stay two days ago.
