Sunny Point Recreation Area

We were on a getaway and wanted to enjoy the lake, so we drove around and found this spot. Absolutely lovely and peaceful. It was a beautiful day and the area was clean. Would definitely go back to relax, again.

Beautiful place to spend the day. BBQ and fishing with the family. Clean and plenty parking lot. Have few grill spots. Some family was playing kickball and having fun. Great place.

We wanted to go to Johnny Jack's lake. But it's closed for repairs. And the West point beach is also closed still. So we went here. It was nice except for a group letting their dog run without a leash. And letting their kids go unattended. And the water was a little chilly until you got used to it. But I love swimming. So I went swimming all day. The water was a little low, so I had to go pretty far to get deep enough. Plus I like going as far as I can. Those little things didn't make the day less wonderful

Good family place!! Could use some cleaning up from fishermen! Lines and hooks along side the shore area!

Took kids down to this park in Lagrange on Memorial day. not too crowded and very covid friendly. After picnicking, the boys and I got in that water which turned to red clay after stirring in it a while. It was like a good ole Southern baptism! There was no entry fee and restrooms were nearby. Definitely will come back again!

Nice picnic area and fishing area, plus I caught plenty of crappies two weeks ago.....

We put in at this ramp. Jet ski. Lots of room.

Mosquitoes were terrible, massive clouds of them and ants everywhere all over picnic areas, broken glass and trash all along the shoreline and waterline. Fishing good only if you like tiny sunfish, and I mean tiny my bobber was stronger than they were, it was like jaws with four barrels only there was one tiny bobber no barrel, they love redworms best bait for them nightcrawlers are a waste.

Yes I went out there and enjoy the scene and it was very nice I would love to go back and visit I went out there with a friend we sat out there and enjoy looking at the water looking at everything and is also a nice park you can cook it and do a little distant a little bit so I must say you can’t enjoy your visit

This is my favorite place to go to visit West Point Lake! They have clean restrooms and lots of parking. There is a boat ramp and also private public picnic tables with lots of room to explore the area and close parking spots.. also in the winter time, when the water level is low, you can see parts of an old road that used to go across the lake. You can walk out on and it looks like you're walking on water!
