Off the beaten path for sure – about 13 miles from I-90. There is a bridge under construction at the moment so you may have to take a longer route to get here depending on which direction you are coming from. They have specific instructions on their website. Coming from the east, the roads through Sturbridge are very rutted. Brimfield is slightly better. There are overhanging branches on Town Farm road, and we snagged a couple. The check-in was quick and easy; however, they do not supply a map or give you any information about the campground. The interior roads are mostly dirt with some gravel. They are narrow and challenging for big rigs. The RV sites are situated in all directions so it looks a bit disheveled. The transient sites have dirt/grass/mud and some have a smattering of gravel. The seasonal/permanent sites which occupy most of the spaces have more gravel. To get into our site, we had to drive up an incline to a flatter area which barely had enough room to get all our tires on it. We were towing a vehicle which remained on the incline. Our rig was leaning towards the driver’s side but the levelers were able to do their job. There was a large square dirt area outside our door where apparently someone had placed a rug for a long time. Our bedroom window looked right out onto the porch of the park model that was backed up to ours. Getting out of our site was interesting as we had to make a tight turn. Luckily, no one was in the sitesplural! across from us because we imposed heavily on them. Satellite would work in some sites. I don’t know if they have cable or not. Verizon was 5g 2 bars or 4g 3 bars; however, our hot spots acted wonky. Trains can be heard off in the distance but they aren’t intrusive. It is very quiet at night so there’s that. FYI - They charge $6 extra a night for 50 amp and $3.50 transaction fee. Pretty high priced for what you get. Just did not tickle our fancy so we won’t be back.
They geld a craft fair and the place was great. Very clean bathrooms, nice camp ground store. Great little dining hut not sure what they call it.They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Nice and very friendly people.
Very friendly and clean facility. Lots of activities. Bands on weekends. Most sites are large. Full hook-ups. Very kid friendly. Including a pool / large playground.
Lovely place with clean bathrooms, roomy sites and the grounds are kept up and nice. Staff and seasonal folks we met were friendly. We went late September for a long weekend.
I have only been invited to stay at a friend's camper for the weekend once a year for the last 2 years. What I've seen I really like. The people who camp out here are really nice. It is definitely a community where people get to know each other and make lasting friendships. People haul their campers up to this sight but I've seen an area filled with tents as well. If you're about that camping life this camp sight is worth looking into.
Great place to stay. Was here for a week 6/18 to 24. Will definitely come back again! Wonderful staff and lovely grounds.Location: 5/5
I'm only giving it 2 stars because we found a nature path by the pond drained at the time of our visit There were 2 older middle- older age women in the office who were less than friendly. One was very unwelcoming upon our arrival as well as short and rude over the phone. Made what I felt to be a very rude comment in regards to my 2.5 year old son. If I wasn't in a pinch I wouldn't have stayed. The fung shui of the place is off. I suppose if you're into getting drunk it's not a bad place cause you won't feel everything I felt. Haha I was going for respite. Not the place for that.
Very nice campground with pool and playground. Hosts are very friendly. Always booked full, so make reservations well in advance. Over 300 sites. If it feels cramped to you, then an RV park is probably not your thing. Go camp in a field. Very kid friendly and safe. An Oasis in Massachusetts to be honest. A perfect layover when traveling from northern Maine to Western New York. UPDATE 2022 - still a great campground with excellent hosts
If you can find accommodations else where I would. The flys are gross, The kids park is infested with them to the point I had to leave with my son, for the camp it’s self and the seasonal guest the music is disrespectfully loud. The camp sites for tent use are extremely small, no grills. The seasonal guest fly around in their golf carts blasting music until 12am at least, while I’m trying to get my son to sleep fun times, $4 for a bag of ice they charge you for anything more then car, but do not change the size of your camp site, at which you have to park said car at. Do not have a family emergency because you are SOL on the rest of your reservation, you will not be getting the difference back. The white mountains are beautiful and worth the extra ride IMO you get what you pay for.
I absolutely love this campground. The staff is very friendly and the campground is clean and provides so much fun and activities. I met some of the seasonal campers while I was at the pond and I must say they were so hospitable offering sandwiches, chips, cracker platters and conversation. My family and I will definitely be camping here more often.
