Very nice beautiful place! Suited our family of 35 very well! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, lots of chairs and tables. And the children really enjoyed playing in the tepee fort at the top of the hiking trail. We also really enjoyed the fire pit. The only downside was how close it was to a busy road.
Came here on a family vacation. It's nice and quiet for the most part. Housed a large group of 40 very easily, everyone had a bed. It is not handicapped friendly. Maybe someone with a cane but definally no wheelchair accessible ramps and getting around with a walker would be rather difficult with all the steps in the main lodge and cabins. Cabins are nice and clean. They are showing their age as there are a lot of uneven floors in them. A small kitchenette in the rooms. The beds are very soft. There is one fan, no Ac understandable, but it looks to have a heater to keep you warm during the winter. The main lodge is larger than it seems than the pictures. Looks exactly like the pictures, no matter the season. It has tons of family-friendly games and movies. Really, it's a cute getaway. The kitchen is great, pretty well stocked with dishes and small appliances. It also carrys a large selection of spices, but I will say that while they have a large selection that does not garenentee that they will have what you need. Although there is that chance, they will be out. It worked well to feed everyone. The surrounding trees and atmosphere is stunning in the late summer. Can only imagine how gorgeous it is in the winter. The road near gets busy, as the windows were open and tons of talking going on, can't not tell you if the sound of cars penitrate the walls when it's quiet. Rooms: Cabins are nice and clean. They are showing their age as there are a lot of uneven floors in them. A small kitchenette in the rooms. The beds are very soft. Maybe someone with a cane but definally no wheelchair accessible ramps and getting around with a walker would be rather difficult with all the steps in the main lodge and cabins. If you are used to sea level, you will find breathing a bit difficult. There is also a small walk to the cabins, not long, just a few minutes, but some cabins have difficult to navigate stairs. Noteworthy details: The kitchen is amazing, and had everything needed to create meals. Although we did bring our own spices, they had a large selection.
Sunshine Mountain Lodge is an absolute gem nestled in the gorgeous Colorado Rocky Mountains. My family and I could not have been happier with our stay. The cabins are cozy, super clean, and well-stocked with all you will need. The lodge is charming and perfect for family reunions and retreats. If you are looking for a cozy getaway, I highly recommend Sunshine Mountain Lodge.
My family and I had an absolutely wonderful time at Sunshine Mountain Lodge. We attended a family reunion and there was more than enough space for everyone in attendance. Anything you could possibly need for cooking meals of any size was readily available. The overall experience was wonderful. I would happily make the 9 hour drive back to visit again.
Sunshine Mountain Lodge was an amazing experience for a retreat or a weekend stay, I'd imagine. Close enough that you can get to a variety of locations, but still quiet and peaceful. The food is absolutely amazing!Rooms: 5/5
What a fantastic place! I attended a four-day men’s retreat here during the winter, and the stay was incredible. These lodge and cabins are tucked away on a hillside off Highway 7 and easily accessible. The best part was Cody and Cathy’s hospitality. They are a great team! I was blown away by their meals. They prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 27 men each day, and the food was something your grandma would make. We had an array of selections from quiche to casseroles to stews and soups. You won’t believe your taste buds! In addition, they ensured we had everything we needed, they kept the place tidy, and had a wealth of information of the surrounding area if anyone wanted to go four-wheeling, hiking, cross-country skiing, etc. Even the internet was fast. I highly recommend this place for retreats and getaways. You won’t be disappointed!
Beautiful setting in the woods. Conveniently located 10 minutes to Wild Basin entrance and 30 minutes to Beaver Meadows entrance of Rocky Mountain NP, and 40 minutes to Boulder. Very nice, cozy, clean cabins. Cory and Cat we very kind and accommodating. We really enjoyed our ten days here.
