Stayed two nights. I expected somewhat low quality based on the price, but thought I’d feel safe at least given the name. Unfortunately, I was on edge every time I entered this hotel. Often a lot of guests hanging out near the entrance or in the lobby. Felt like I may have been watched and even pretended to be on the phone several times. The rooms are pretty filthy. Hairs all over the place, stain on the sheets, bugs on the floor. The kinda place you’re not sure about taking your shoes off in. My air conditioning unit whistled loudly every time it turned on/off. I finally turned it off in the middle of the night so it would stop waking me up. Toilet runs on occasion too. Walls must be thin. You can hear every sound from the hallway and outside. Thankfully everyone was pretty quiet after about 11pm, but definitely picked up again about 6am for airport travelers. I got stuck in the elevator at one point. Luckily the door eventually opened and let me out after about 5 minutes. When I returned later that day there was an out of order sign on the elevator. Guests have been using the stairs since. The staff seem friendly from my limited interaction with them. I chose to rent a car after seeing all the reviews about the shuttle service. I would not stay again… Rooms: The rooms are pretty filthy. Hairs all over the place, stain on the sheets, bugs on the floor. The kinda place you’re not sure about taking your shoes off in. Well I had to switch rooms because of a leak coming from upstairs into my room when they switched rooms they gave me a room with no refrigerator and then threw away at least $50 if not more worth of food that I had stored in the refrigerator in the room that I chose. After switching rooms and losing the food I was asked to leave because the manager did not approve of my guests. He didn't like the people who visited me because they were homeless. Most of the people that I know I met in the actual hotel itself or nearby. None of my guests or myself received any kind of warning or were even asked to register for visiting know if they did this to every visitor that would be one thing but they didn't they single me out. The discriminated against me and my guests. We didn't get any complaints from anyone in the hotel or any staff. Now I paid full price for the room for over 30 days consecutively and not one complaint. I would have listened to any reason I was not allowed to have visitors valid or not. So I am not 100% satisfied with my stay and I expect to be compensated for the poor treatment for no reason other than the way my guests had to come inside and cool off because of the weather advisory for excessive heat... I'm still working on the storage unit and staying nearby in a hotel that's much better. Thanks for adding to the trauma. Walkability: It's near storage and stores.
When we walked into the hotel room it smelled heavily of air freshener masking the smell of dampness. Staff was very friendly and price is awesome but there was dents/scuffs on the walls & furniture as well as some unknown residue on the bed skirt.. overall disappointed with the hygiene, look and feel of the hotel but it’s somewhere to stay at the end of the day.
I agree with other travelers that found this place of low quality. I would add that when I arrived the elevator was not in service so I had to negotiate flights of stairs to third floor, hauling luggage up and down was a serious issue for me as I am partially disabled. The staff were helpful. The day clerk, Akhil, asked if he help with my bags on my way to the car. I doubt that I will be staying at this location again.
Hotel is decent, but the counter staff completely messed up our reservation and offered no explanation as to way everything was incorrect and then when asked what they could do about the price to reflect the fact that the rooms we were given were not what we booked, the counter staff completely ignored the questions and just smiled and said thanks over and over again. Most absurdly bad experience I've ever had checking into and out of a hotel.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel. They will not give consideration on cancellation even if the reason is valid. My baby got sick the night before our trip. No one will ever want to get sick. I called the hotel and explain the situation. The guy I talked to confirmed TWICE that I will not get charge and that he understand the situation. Two days after, I saw that I was billed so I called again and the manager spoke to me and I asked why I got billed even if there's a confirmation that I will not get charged but the manager just said no, "we have to charge you". So that means they do not stand behind what the employees says. This is so RIDICULOUS and UNACCEPTABLE.
Dear Super 8 by Wyndham Bloomington I aim writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the service I received during my recent stay at your hotel, Super 8 by Wyndham Bloomington from 16/9/2023 to 23/9/2023. The room was not clean when I arrived, and there was a strong smell of smoke. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows were lumpy and the air conditioning did not work properly, and the room was very hot. Also, the shower was leaking, and there was no hot water. The breakfast was cold and stale. The staff was rude and unhelpful. I tried to resolve these issues with the front desk staff on several occasions, but they were unable or unwilling to help me. I am very disappointed with the customer service I received, and I feel that I did not get the value for my money that I expected. I am requesting a full refund for my stay. I am also requesting that you take steps to address the issues I have raised, so that other guests do not have to experience the same problems. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
Hotel was good. Room was clean with good hot water and air conditioning. Free shuttle to the airport is a definite plus. Breakfast is only packaged muffin and oranges and granola bars. But hotel is worth the price. Would stay again.Rooms: 5/5
Clean rooms and comfy beds. The staff are wonderful. They are very kind and helpful. I have business I want Reddy to work for me! He is such a nice person ever. When I see him I felt I am coming to my home. Safety: I felt very safe over here at this hotel
This place is very close to the Mall of America. That is the only good thing to say. We got in late and landed at this place to rest and clean up. The guy at the desk was sleeping, yes it was about 2am. He was not friendly, very cold and just said "no smoking in the room" the rest room in the lobby area was not clean or stocked with toilet paper or paper towels. The safety latch on our room door was busted off. The paint in the shower area was bubbled, looked like there was a lot of water damage in the corner of the drywall. There was no place to set up your suitcase, no chair. Just a bench and a dresser. Our room had 2 queen beds, one was springing and the other was firm foam type. My wife got a good night's sleep, me not so much. It was fine for a place to rest and shower but I would not recommend this place EVER. For $80 I do not expect luxury but I do expect clean and well kept. Super 8, you need to do better. Clean up your place if you're going to have the Wyndham name behind it. I expected better from a tried and true budget motel. This is a nationwide company. Act like it
