My daughter loves the teen cooking class. Chef Corey has done a fantastic job! The desserts have been delightful and beautiful.
Skip the cooking class. It’s not at all what we thought it would be.. you don’t even get your own station - you have to cook as a group or team. No alcohol allowed even when we brought our own bottle of wine. This was NOT the date night we thought it would be. Food was just OKAY.
Had to speak up after taking one of the cooking classes here. It was very poorly done. The kitchen was extremely disorganized and full of dirty equipment. The class itself felt really rough and we ended up missing steps and ingredients. I understand that some classes aren’t always going to go according to plan, but a lot of this just comes down to basic procedure. Probably the worst thing was that part way through the class we had coffee and the sugar for the coffee had a poorly marked shaker bottle of detergent for the coffee machines right next to it. Literally on the tray with the stirrers. Why on earth would you place a shaker bottle of detergent in such a place? This is why I’m giving one star. Quite literally, that’s dangerous. You cannot do this.
I bought an expensive pot last week and was not told about their draconian return policy. If I had known that any sale item is not returnable for any reason and I could not even get a store credit, I would not have bought it. I will not shop at Sur La Table again.
Some good products but the checkout experience is horrible and there's no service to match the premium prices. I couldn't get gift wrapping today because of "staffing shortages" even though we were only people in the store. The assistant seemed like taking my money was a complete inconvenience.
Attended the Mediterranean tapas class at Sur La Table and cooked roasted cauliflower, a few sauces, lamb meatballs and shrimp skewers. Class size was small and enjoyable. Knowledgeable instructor and enjoyed the overall experience. ~2.5 hour class
The lady who greeted us was very nice and offered us fresh brewed tea as we walked in, and let us know that there was a lot of good new clearance items in the back, but the lady at the checkout completely ruined the experience. She was very cold to us and wouldn't give us a shopping bag for our purchases, even after we asked. She suggested we put it in our other shopping bag from another place that was full. Idk if they charge for bags, or maybe she felt we just didn't deserve the same respect as other customers because we weren't spending a lot of money. I saw another review saying the cashier made them feel like they were wasting her time. I'm assuming we got the same one.
What an amazing date night! My husband and I had such a great time! We made empanadas and steak with chimichurri sauce, and it was sooo good Thank you for making it such a fun night Chef Corey!
I was very disappointed in the cooking class. The food overall at the end tasted good the only reason this gets 2 stars but I do not feel as if I learned any new skills. The teacher was very disorganized, did not explain what was going on, didn’t have all of the tools ready at the stations, and jumped all over the place. Many steps were missed in the cooking process only to go back to them later. I was really looking forward to this experience for valentines date night and overall I am very let down after seeing many of the great reviews on the site. Additionally, there was no communication before hand for the class. The receipt sent to my email didn’t even include the time of the class so if I hadn’t written that down immediately I could have missed it.
Had a great experience here, bought an 8 inch global knife. They let me test it and everything. Priced properly too. Will probably come back if I need anything else.
