Why I like this better then the Ritz Carlton or Montage! So I have been to both of those that I mentioned above. They both are great hotel but this is an Ocean View property which your balcony is on the ocean waters. You hear, see and smell the ocean and it is so relaxing. Definitely an experience to stay right on the water. We had an excellent service. Lisa at the front desk went beyond to make our 23rd anniversary super special. She definitely is amazing.

I cannot say enough great things about this resort. Location was beautiful and close to everything. Amazing staff, pool, amenities and dining. The sounds of the waves will undoubtedly give you the best sleep of your life. All that said, the hidden gem of this establishment is Sandra at the concierge. In February we came up from San Diego on a spur of the moment escape, no dinner reservations or any idea what to expect. Of course there were no openings available anywhere but that did not stop Sandra. She was able to get us in to one of the nicest spots in town and not only that persuaded them to get us in at a reasonable time to accommodate our young kids. The experience was amazing and after the meal the chef came out and brought our kids in the back to make their own deserts! This was of course all thanks to Sandra! On our most recent visit I was thanking her and recalling the amazing stay and she went out of her way to send us some wine and cheese to enjoy at sunset. I love this resort and I cannot say enough about the amazing service that Sandra provides, can’t wait to go back!!!

Stayed at surf and sand for 3 days 2 nights to rest and relax by the sea. Surf and sand didn't disappoint my family and was one of the highlights of my family trip to California.  We took the ocean front room and the view was fantastic. My kids literally spent one of the afternoon sitting at the balcony reading and enjoying the view and hearing the sea waves. The room was very comfortable with nice bed, bath tub and separate shower. Price was good when compared to similar resorts in other part of California like pismo beach and Huntington beach. My kids like the place so much that they complained that 3 days 2 nights were too short for our stay in surf and sand. The people in the hotel were also generally nice, making the stay highly enjoyable.  Location wise, it's a bit off from where the park and main restaurants are. Otherwise, location is still pretty good and you can do jog from the resort to Laguna park.  Will definitely consider this place again should we have the opportunity to visit California again in the future.  Rooms: Bed is very comfortable.

Had such a great time here! It was the perfect couples getaway and the town was so cute with great food. Hearing the ocean at night and having that view was amazing- we didn’t even want to leave the room! We have a small English bulldog that was welcomed and she also had a blast. We took advantage of their cyber Monday deal and will be back!

I was here for a work conference for one night. I wish I could have stayed a week! The service, staff, food, location were all stellar! My room came with a beautiful ocean view. Every staff member I had interactions with was helpful, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable. My room was equipped with snacks, coffee, and a fridge full of refreshments. They had a turn down service where they provided bottles of water, mints on the pillow, robes and a bucket of ice. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing was so relaxing! I would highly recommend, especially for a weekend getaway.

I have never felt more rested, never been treated better, or felt more at ease in any hotel I've ever been to, than I felt while staying here. My wife and I stayed here while in our honeymoon, and I cannot rave about this place enough! Easily our best stay on the honeymoon, and we're already making plans to return on a regular basis. You will not be disappointed by the service, the rooms, the restaurant.. everything was incredible. Best hotel I've ever had the pleasure to stay at.

The hotel is really spectacular! Location is unmatched!!  Bar is good. Restaurant is nice. Spa was fantastic! Unfortunately, they don't seem to realize, or if they do, they fail to mention that the rooms do NOT have air conditioning. It was sweltering at over 85* in the room and only the slider as ventilation. Ahem, global warming, anyone?! We also did not have service to the room, which is charged at $40/day. So, at nearly $1000 per night, we were surprised to say the least. Upon check out, these issues were brought up. The response was a blank stare and nothing more.  Go and have a wonderful time just go with full disclosure and knowledge of what you are going to receive.

We had air conditioning. The staff is amazing, they go above and beyond. The resort is clean, nicely decorated and the views are beautiful. We attended a wedding.  The food was great and the service was well executed.  TIP: After checkout, you can leave your bag in storage and enjoy the town or hotel pool.

The Surf & Sand Resort & Splashes Restaurant are my family’s main “Go To” spot whenever we are visiting Laguna Beach. The hotel’s location alone is worth 10 stars but the rating scale doesn’t go that high. The service and quality of food are impeccable. Even post pandemic!! So many hotels and restaurants lost their level of quality, this hotel and restaurant remains  unsurpassed.

We had the most lovely experience staying at Surf and Sand Resort. The staff is friendly and professional. We were celebrating an anniversary, so couldn’t think of a nicer place to stay nearby our home. We watched the dolphins playing in the surf in the morning and hearing the ocean waves all night was such a delight. I would recommend it to anyone looking for some R&R. Great job!
