I used to shop at Sutherlands for every project. They have always had everything I needed, from start to finish. Since the flood it seems as though they have had little inventory to choose from. They do have everything a contractor will need to get the job done but the little extras are missing, unless you want a nice, expensive wind chime. I do like seeing the ice cream box when you walk in on these ever-so-hot days, it instantly cools you down! Don't forget to take a stroll through the "ever-so-hotter" room full of inventory, accessible through the doors in the back far right of the store, for many more items that you won't find inside. I've found some very unique and useful products that I never knew I needed, and, don't forget, there are sale items gems hidden back there too! Whether it's for your business, or personal hobbies, Sutherlands is in such a convenient location for everyone in Bay Colony and the surrounding areas. Easy in, easy out. I only wish they would stock up the shelves and include more updated items I'm not giving up on you yet!
When to Sutherland #3106 to get some hand rails for a freind and JT was at the register. Showed him the condition of rails. They had been sitting in the weather and had corrosion on them, since they were not in like new condition I asked for discount he said that would not happen, so I asked if he can wash them off so we could see the condition of them. He said no, take them as they are that’s the way they sell them. Had to get the hand rails freind needed them. JD should not be work where customers can interact with him. The Hand rails are $180 each bough, two of them.
I called to place an order for 25 4x6x20 and was told they had 30 available but had to go online to place the purchase. I went online and it also said there was 30 available so I placed order . I received an email confirmation that my order was ready so I hook up the trailer to pick them up and there was only 18 there and one was warped real bad. I needed these for a job and complained about it and was told they must have sold some. Now I have to hunt down more . Normally when an order is placed it gets bundled so this does not happen... it takes up to 5 business days to get the funds back on the card I used... thanks for not doing the simple things to secure orders. You failed on this one. Very poor.
This place has a outdoor lumber yard. When I need lumber or bagged cement I come here becuase it is much more friendly and faster them lowes. The wood is straighter and better quality.
Absolutely My Go To Store! The Staff are helpful and can get You everything You need. I recommend this store to Anyone! They will get You everything from the House, Barn, Garden, Pet/Animal/Livestock, and even Garage/Motorpart needs. If they don't have it stock, they will gladly order it for You. 5 Solid Stars.
Never have what you need. Would be nice if they had more common, newer items. Hard to get good help the times I have been in there. If you need a few sticks of lumber I’d say you are ok to come here. Anything else drive a few miles down the road.
Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness - I'm writing this review as a professional associate of Robert Valderas and his staff at Sutherland's in Dickinson . I find Robert and his team to be the best examples I know of Grace under Pressure; courtesy under fire, and unfailing friendliness at all times. Take it from me Sutherland's is simply the best. Sutherland's is an interesting place in today's world. It feels like a small old school hardware store. There is something nice about going here instead of home depot. The people aren't always the best, but they are more likely to know what's going on. I was also able to get things here I couldn't get in home depot without ordering online, which was nice.
Frustrating experience trying to get info on a home package. Won't release materials included unless you go to the store, which happens to be an hour and a half away through Houston. After talking to the store twice, called corporate, thinking store was mistaken. Corporate said people would be fired if they did release it. Another corporate rep said I'd need to buy the blueprint first. Unbelievable. It's a thousand-square-foot cabin; not the Taj Majal. You're either competitive or you're not. You either place customer service as a priority or you don't. Simply wanted to know what I'm getting for my money, what the package includes without having to make a three-hour trip. Called 84 Lumber, Menards comparing home packages they offer, no problem. Emailed detailed info immediately so we could make an informed decision and then followed up to ask if we had questions. This was the first of five we're building as rentals on our property. Tried to do business, but they weren't interested. Need to rethink your sales strategies/policies, Sutherlands. Your competitors left you in the dust on this one.
It's a quick place to pick up hardware without having to deal with the big box stores and the people who go with it, but you are going to pay a bit more and their selection is not as good.
