Absolutely delicious! They have an impressively wide selection of chocolate truffles. Some are tried and true, and some are quite unique like strawberry balsamic. But they have so much more than truffles. If anything chocolate-related is your jam, this is a must-do. And definitely absolutely try the Sipping Chocolate. It's like drinking the gooey wonderfulness of the melted chocolate from a chocolate chip cookie, fresh from the oven. Heaven in a cup
The folks who run sweet shops tend to be sick of sweets after being around them all the time. As a result, if they recommend something to you, you'd better take it because they have overcome their indifference to try it and love it. Today's rec was the caramel apple pie bites and we loved them too. A slice of granny Smith apple, dipped in white chocolate, drizzled generously with caramel, with a little crunch on top. Perfect. We also got a box of mixed truffles that were all special in their own way. Favorites include the cherry creme and espresso, with an honorable mention to the salty balls. The only miss was the pistachio saffron, but it just wasn't to our taste. It might be your favorite!
I've never tried chocolate with Old Bay before I went to Sweet Cascades. And i still haven't. I need a sample before taking that leap. But the peanut butter stuffed marshmallows covered in dark chocolate were outstanding. So were the bourbon balls although they were a little strong. I found the prices very reasonable.
YUM! Absolutely delicious chocolate and the nicest people own it! Delightful store to definitely frequent!
I’ve been shopping here for years, before the 2016 I remember a man ran the shop and was so helpful and friendly. I’m not sure if management has changed but my last few visits have been disappointing. The man doesn’t seem to be in my last few visits and I’ve been helped by women, who don’t have a particularly friendly demeanor, not rude, but very matter of fact. My most recent visit felt the most off, I asked whether they were still taking orders for chocolate covered bottle for Christmas, the clerk responded very quickly ‘we are not taking orders of any kind right now’ which was fine and I totally understood it being a week before Christmas, just would have thought her tone could have been a bit more conversational? It’s become sort of a ‘get your chocolate and get out’ vibe here now. The prices are also getting a little ridiculous, I paid over $6 for 2 truffles. I want to continue to shop small and hope they can hire some friendly faces in the future.
Besttttt chocolate I ever had! The Amish market has nothing on them! Such sweet ladies as well! Gave me and my cousin really cute stickers also! I will be back!
So many options! Found a perfect gift, and I can't wait to visit this independent shop again soon for something for me
Went in after a long week of teaching for a little sweet pick me up! The service was fantastic and the chocolate delicious. Thank you for the treat. Your kindness does not go unnoticed
I have to give props to the quality of the chocolates. Delicious! That chocolate covered twinkie is to die for! I also got my chocolates wrapped up in a box for my friend! Very lovely. However, I have to dock a couple of stars because of the woman who works at the counter. I had to wait 10 minutes just to get into the shop. Due to covid they only limit it to 4 people at a time. I walked in after almost the 10 minute mark because I thought I counted three people. The woman at the counter sounded very angry and said “Mam, please leave only four people allowed”. Like I get it’s my bad. But why so angry? When inside the shop I was remarking to another customer how they were out of buckeyes which my friend loves. This by the way wasn’t the first time they have run out of buckeyes either. On a side note, if they know the item is so popular why do they keep running out they should make more of them. Anyways, the woman remarked “This is the time of the year we start running out of things.” It was December 16th. Then when I ordered I asked “Will you be out of buckeyes for the rest of the season?” And she angrily replied “Didn’t we already have this conversation?”. I mean it’s not necessary to act so rude it’s a reasonable question. I will still order chocolates from here because they’re so good but this lady reminds me of a particular character from Seinfeld.
The chocolate is good. Nothing overly special, but good. My review is more focused on the very poor service that was provided. I was there 30 minutes before closing and the person seemed annoyed by my presence and seemed to be hurrying me. I had never been there and wanted to look. It was not at all busy so I am not sure why I was being rushed. This is a quaint shop in a beautiful area but sadly very unwelcoming.
