Our go-to for special occasion cakes! Cakes are always beautifully decorated but more importantly delicious! My all time favorite is the triple berry cake. The dark chocolate cake is pretty decadent too. Beverly cake and red velvet are also decent. Pumpkin cheesecake during thanksgiving was amazing! We love this spot.
The good: excellent location, generous portions, and good product presentation The bad: we ordered a slice of carrot cake and apple pie. The taste of cinnamon was overwhelming. The ugly: POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. I was the only customer and, besides none of the two employees greeting me, I had to ask two or three times for someone to take my order. When I asked them for a menu, in a condescending matter, they told me that “no one uses physical anymore” and asked me to check their Instagram account. I can only assume I was dealing with someone how does not care for their business. 2/5 mainly for the poor service.
What truly elevated this cafe and bakery was its commitment to beautifully designed pastries. Each confection was a miniature masterpiece, meticulously adorned with intricate details and vibrant colors. It was evident that the bakers poured their heart and soul into every creation, ensuring that not only did they taste exceptional, but they also looked like edible works of art. The presentation alone was a feast for the eyes, making it difficult to resist the temptation of indulging in these delectable treats. The interior was thoughtfully curated, blending modern aesthetics with a cozy ambiance. The color palette was inviting, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Every corner was tastefully adorned with tasteful decor, from charming vintage touches to contemporary accents, further enhancing the overall experience.
I follow their IG and the cakes look awesome and delicious. Drove from WC to give this place a try and did not live up to the expectations. I purchased the red velvet which by the way was decorated very nicely. However, the actual cake was too dry. It Seems like most people go for the berry cake. Don't let the pics on IG fool you. 3 starts for the decor and the fact the cake was not overly sweet. Also some of the employees seem to not like working there to say the least
My friend took us here for dessert and it did not disappoint. Their cakes are not super fancy, but they are tried and true and DELICIOUS! Sometimes, you just want a good cake, right? Sweet Lady Jane feels like going to someone's home where the cakes are made daily and overflowing. Their cakes are nice and moist. I love the Triple Berry yellow cake and the Strawberry chocolate cake.
Have been to a lot of cake and pie shops in the word so 5* would be one of the 5 best. However, SLJ bakery delivered very good pumpkin pie and a respectable NY cheese cake. Regarding the pumpkin pie, it was not too sweet as a lot of other local pies te d to be AND their slice equates to 1/4 of the entire pie enough for two to share. The NY cheesecake is not the same type of cheesecake get in NYC, but it is as good as any cheesecake I have made -ergo 4*. Nice find and will visit again for sure!
This place is Ahhhhhhmazing! I grew up in France and used to eating French pastries. This place takes me back to my childhood. I've tried the tart, strawberry short cake, flan, boisenberry pie...just ridiculous! Soo delicious. Airy, light and not overly sweet. The breakfast menu is great too. Definitely recommend the French toast and the salmon cream cheese scrambled eggs.
To die for! I bought the triple berry cake for my fiancé’s PhD graduation party and everybody loved it! I also recently bought funfetti-like cupcakes for a birthday gift – the frosting and cake blended impeccably together. You can taste the purity of every bite with their cakes. And most of all the frosting isn’t too overbearing, but light, flavorful, and balanced!
Good cake, clueless staff. I walked in for a single slice of NY Cheesecake to go...extremely basic order. As I'm ordering someone just walks in front of me and says "just picking up an online order", which I guess the staff didn't have ready. A couple employees proceeded to see why it wasn't ready and then started to prepare it. At the same time they ringing up my order, I put in a tip, wait 5 minutes to get my slice and then they say they don't have it. The thing is, while I was waiting I watched them take the ENTIRE NY Cheesecake and give it to the guy who claimed he had an online order. The exact same thing happened to the lady behind me who also ordered a slice of NY cheesecake AND already paid for it, like me. The clueless staff did nothing, was not sorry, offered nothing, but a rude look back to us. I would expect an apology and something like "how about we get you a coffee on us for the mix-up" given that I already tipped them $1.50 on top of the price of the slice and they failed to even deliver the product we agreed on. The finance director apparently was in the store and approached me as I walked out, asking about pricing of the cakes and what I thought and if their new pricing increase is acceptable. If he's reading this, your cake is good, but your employees suck. The price is value against the cake & the experience, not just the cake. Don't raise your price until your employees learn basic customer service. If someone comes into your bakery for a single slice of NY Cheesecake and you don't have it at 2pm on a Saturday, you have more problems to figure out beyond your pricing. Edit - upping from 2 stars to 3 because the business owner at least is trying to reach out to me to resolve. I don't want your freebies, just teach your employees some basic service when a mistake happens on their end. Thanks.
Ordered online for pick up same day. My triple berry cake is already available once I get into the store. They have the COVID-19 precautions with hand sanitizers, floor marking, and flexi glass. As usual, the cake is delicious.
