Delicious fudge available for a decent price. They offer free samples and it smells amazing inside. If you buy three fudges you get one free. The Sierra sea salt fudge was especially tasty.
We’ve visited this location four times and the service is consistently bad. They oddly still expect customers to follow Covid distancing as of august 2023. They also yell at you if you browse. Customers must stay in line and wait for an employee to assist. The employees are usually snarky, impatient, and seemingly eager to end their shift and check their phones. Prices are on the high side since the store caters to tourists.
The chocolate was very good and the woman I dealt with was very helpful in pointing me towards non-dairy options. My husband, however, was treated rudely by another employee because he wandered away from me to look at the other items available. He was told he had to return to his party and wasn't allowed to look on his own. He chose to leave the store instead.
Smelled amazing! But the chocolate was not good. Not creamy at all. The haystacks were mostly tiny bits of coconut. Not worth $2.50 a piece to pay for coconut. One bite and $10 worth of chocolate ended up in the trash. I make my own candy with Trader Joes chocolate and it so much better.
WONderful chocolates and sweets!!! The staff was very helpful and answered all our questions. When we got done we must have spent over $100 because everything looks so good! The turtles are absolutely Divine and so are the honeycomb chocolate. Also one of my favorites was the caramel squares chocolate-covered of course. We went up and down the shopping plaza all day and it was a nice way to end the day by going to the Sweet Shop and bring you home chocolate
I tried four different pieces - three of which were solid and one of which was amazing! Firsts off, they have quite a selection of fudge. And as soon as I walked in the door they offered me a sample of the chocolate. It was super sweet and melted in my mouth. I definitely considered getting some, but they sell pretty large pieces and I knew I couldn't finish one on my own. So I moved on to their Chocolate/Truffle case. They don't have the largest selection I've ever seen, but they had interesting choices. Peanut Butter Cup - Made with milk chocolate and what tastes like your average Jeff Peanut Butter, which is perfectly good for me. My only complaint is that it was messy. The peanut butter wasn't actually contained by the chocolate. Instead, it was simply a lay of chocolate, a layer of peanut butter and another layer of chocolate. So as soon as I bit into it the peanut butter squeezed out everywhere. Black Forrest Truffle - Dark Chocolate Raspberry Ganache inside a dark chocolate shell. Just what I want! Dark chocolate with a little tang! Oreo Bark - I don't know what else to call it. Basically, it looked like they're taken a tray of broken Oreos and completely covered them with caramel and milk chocolate. This was by far my absolute favorite! So much so that hubby and I instantly went back for another piece. Why doesn't every place make this? It's so simple! Anyway, this place is great! Check it out!!
We have lived in Truckee full time for over 14 years. I have bought from this place for special occasions because of how over priced they are. However, I will never spend another dime here. I was shopping with my 10 year old for presents for Valentines day, and the lady behind the desk kept yelling at us for looking around. Literally. She had the door open at 7 degrees so we went to the back to browse. She kept telling us to go to the front. I told her we were cold and well look back here. She was so rude and mean that my 10 year old even asked if she was mad at me. It was the worst experience I have ever incurred here in Truckee. My family will not support businesses as this one.
Really amazing smell coming from melted chocolate and marshmallows lured me and my friends in the store. We expected the chocolate to taste amazing and were exciting to taste it but when we took a bite it was disgusting. Didn’t taste nowhere near as good as the store smelled. Some pieces tasted so bad we couldn’t even finish them even though they were $9 a piece. With prices like that you’d expect the chocolate to be at least edible.
We love the confections here. Their raspberry truffles are amazing. Best candy store in Truckee.
We bought tahoe turtle caramel apple and it tastes amazing. Also I like milk chocolate almond toffee, very strong toffee flavor
