Our cattle are raised beautiful green pastures here on our farm. They are never fed hormones, antibiotics and have no "solution". Great Taste, Little Fat.
We are a local farm that raises natural grass fed beef steers with no hormones or antibiotics. This means that it will not taste the same as a hamburger from a restaurant or even from a grocery store. These steers have been raised naturally and butchered/packaged organically without added water, salt, preservatives, or any other additives. This means that you can eat healthier and still enjoy a steak at the end of the day while feeling less guilt or worry about what you're eating.
When you order a quarter, half, or whole beef, we deliver the steer to the butcher, after which you choose how you'd like it cut up and packaged. When your meat is ready, you are responsible for pickup and any butcher fees ($0.30/pound). Meat is available in the Spring and Fall, and currently selling (Spring 2015) for the following prices:
Whole: $2.10/pound live weight
Half: $2.20/pound live weight
Quarter: $2.25/pound live weight
(Please be aware that if the live weight of a steer is 800lb, you will NOT ACTUALLY be receiving 800lb of meat. Roughly 50% of that weight is not edible meat.)
A steer's live weight average is 800-1200 lbs.
Prices change with actual market pricing, and will be stated at agreement of purchase.
We understand that even a quarter is a lot of meat for some people--what numerous people have done is to buy a quarter/half/whole and split it with friends and family.
