Preserving and interpreting Lake Tahoe's maritime history since 1987.
The Tahoe Maritime Center – Museum & Gardens provides a unique cultural experience where the Lake Tahoe regional maritime heritage is preserved, enjoyed, and passed along to future generations through innovative interpretation and public education.
Our Museum was founded in 1987, and in 2008 celebrated the opening of its new building where our museum now resides. Some features include multiple vessels from Tahoe's past, an Outboard Motor wall, movie about Lake Tahoe's maritime history, a children's activity area, and much more! Our current exhibits are Ink & Ivory and What's in a Name?
The Museum Annex in Reno also houses a number of artifacts not currently on display in our main exhibit at the Museum. Check our website for details.
