Takoma Spark Creativity Camp is a day camp for artistically curious children ages 8-11. During the week at camp, kids will be immersed in a creative, supporting environment where they can take artistic risks and succeed! It is our goal to empower kids to embrace their artistic potential and practice creative leadership roles. The camp is staffed by professional arts facilitators who will guide your children in unleashing their creative spirits!
Our multi-disciplinary program includes:
• Music-making on a variety of instruments (Don’t worry if your kids don’t play anything; we will show them how to jump right into the jam!)
• Instrument design and construction
• Visual arts using acrylic paints, canvasses, found art
• Tye dye day
• Poetry and creative writing
• International folk dancing
• Theatrical improvisation games and exercises
• Artistic cooking
• An outdoor performance Friday evening for friends and family, accompanied by supper prepared by the campers
