Theatre Tallahassee's Mainstage Auditorium features seating for up to 271 patrons, with handicapped seating, access for the hearing impaired, comfortable high-backed seats, and a high quality sound system. Shows performed on our Mainstage tend to be geared for large audiences and often feature lavish sets. The Studio is a small, black-box style performance space that seats up to 120. Studio productions are often edgy, niche pieces geared toward smaller, more intimate audiences. These shows sometimes contain more adult subject matter and themes.
The productions are very professional. The theater itself could be somewhat depressing. It might help if they invested in either more or more efficient lighting. The executive director is unreachable by phone, and not very quick at responding with poorly written emails.
I attended the Theater Tallahassee during the Love, Loss, and What I Wore Sept 2021performance. I was truly amazed by the amount of talent displayed in this quaint yet modern theater. I went on a spur of the moment “I want to get out of the house.” energy and left with an “I need to bring all my friends and family here!” mindset. I will be returning and highly recommend anyone who appreciates a great show, a nice drink, and immaculate customer service to definitely visit this theater.
I have seen 4 plays here…all great!
The Drowsy Chaperone, was one of the best plays we've seen in a long time, great cast - the casting director did a fantastic job selecting and matching the actors to their roles. The actors were phenomenal, strong voices, funny, and seem to adapt to most anything and keep the play going. However, seating is a hit or miss - most seats are comfortable, however row C sucks - even a small person has problems sitting comfortably for a short play.... Overall, had a great time, haven't laughed that hard in a long time - thank you!
Great play. Laughed for over 2 hours. Great ambience. Beer and alcohol . Great bunch of people. I am a member and I always enjoy the plays. A great night out at an affordable price. Great for a date. Hope to see you there.
Wonderful performance and a terrific evening!
If you want to experience live theater and enjoy supporting your local community, this is the place to be! The performances are always stellar and the accommodations are being updated constantly. I've been going here for more than 10 years and am always still surprised at the quality of the content they produce. Job well done!
This theatre attracts some of the most talented artist for their shows. The plays are phenomenal and the Directors have a knack for selecting the prefect crew for each play. I highly recommend visiting this theatre and enjoying some of the best plays in the Tallahassee area. Come watch a play today, I promise you won't regret it!
An intimate setting, with a simply enchanting team of players. Not a bad seat in the house, good acoustics...truly felt appreciated as a theatre goer! A recent performance of "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown" was truly enjoyable, and brought back some great memories!
