I've had to visit repeatedly to navigate at legal issues with an absentee ex on behalf of our children. My attorney advised that to save money many tasks could be done with the help of the clerks. They have been absolutely wonderful in helping me complete documents, find information, locate contact information within the courts, etc. It's been so easy to advocate for my family within a complex system because they've been amazing. I'm grateful. Thank you!
The District Attorney Mrs. Robinson took care of my case and she handled with expertise and professionalism. She answered all my questions and concerns. The outcome was beyond my expectations and was able to give me my life back after being stalked for a year. Abby and Tiffany both were great in helping with the process. I am forever grateful for Mrs. Robinson.
I am not sure about others' experiences, but name changes are a breeze here. Everyone was courteous and very accommodating. I was a bit unsure before going, and thought I would be entangled in unnecessary bureaucracy, but that wasn't the case. The whole process took a week, from the time I filed my petition to the final decree. Very swift and agile. In other states I've seen much longer times and much more expensive fees. I wish I knew it would be so easy, becuase I delayed forever thinking I had to go through hell to get it done!
Divorce was finalized in January 2021. My ex wife and I filed an uncontested divorce, sat down together and came to agreements for child custody and schedules. No child support was requested due to my health issues. I have had two heart attacks and two ruptured disc in my back with very little income. My 17 year old son told me that the judge of court 324 had a good laugh with my ex over a zoom meeting or however they did it last year. Anyways my son over heard that Judge laughing at my situation and decided I’m to pay child support. Very unprofessional and 100% against the oath they took. I found out after the divorce was final I’m to pay child support. I have all the paperwork signed where it was not requested but, my name was signed in places that was not my signature. My son resides with me and I am paying child support for him. Apparently UNCONTESTED DIVORCES DO NOT EXSIST IN TARRANT COUNTY COURT 324 EVEN IF BOTH PARTIES AGREE. But they can laugh at a person who can not work a full time job.
Filing for a divorce is the easy process, but getting it finalized has been a nightmare. The ladies at the front counter were very helpful when I initially filed, and after my sixty days cooling off period Atty. Lisle was even more helpful. He's great actually and the only reason why I gave two stars. However, I submitted my divorce decree on 9/18/20 and it has yet to be finalized and stamped by a judge. The reason behind it is with covid going on they come at a first come first serve basis. This is absurd. I shouldn't have to wait months after for a simple stamp and signature.
I had to go down to the Records Department and request copies of my child custody agreement that I presume I accidentally threw away. It was my first time having to request records, and I was a little flustered. Carol Ladkins was the clerk who helped me. Let me tell you how wonderful she is! Very reassuring, polite, friendly, and I sincerely feel that she went above and beyond to help me, and the fellow patrons who came in behind me. She made sure to greet the customers who walked in within a timely manner, and helped me to get what I needed. It was refreshing to have such good customer service, and she sure is a keeper!
My husband and I have been dealing with a child support review for almost a year now. We always get rude and frustrated employees when calling to ask questions and getting help. I had the pleasure FINALLY to speak and work with the Court D court coordinator CARMEN NORWOOD-SIMS and let me tell you......VERY professional, kind and most of all did above and beyond her job to help us !!!! I told her I was so happy just to get a nice person on the other end of the phone that I was going to write a letter to the judge expressing how kind and helpful she was !!!!
Bailiff in court room ivd-1 and the scheduling woman in the same place were the only ones who were actually helpful in the court. The judge wouldn't let my husband explain the situation and the short blonde attorney was screeching "objection " every time he tried to explain the situation. Very rude and they don't care if you're not able to afford the high amount of child support for a child he never knew about. The people on the 3rd floor are very helpful to the extent that they can be legally. Family law is a joke and only serves to make the lawyers and judges richer.
They were very fast but even MORE rude! I think people at a court house , especially a family court have a lot going on as it is, I think they should speak to/treat people the way they would want be spoken to and treated I would give 1 star but the service was pretty quick and the officers at the front were very welcoming!
I am asking everyone that looks at this page to support your local Fathers rights chapter as well any mothers that have been alienated from your children to fight for your child, start researching the Title V D and learn that it is a money making scheme set up to put good loving parents into a debtors prison. This is an illegal and corrupt system made to get good parents fighting with each other to take all of your money and resources. You will be treated worse than a criminal if you are a Father some mothers too. You do not have to agree to any or half of the things they tell you to. They put orders in place then the custodial parent never suffers reprecussions if they choose to withhold the child. You have rights as a parent, children are made with 2 parents and one should not get preferintial treatment over the narcisistic parent. People lie so much in this court they can't find truth. If you do not like your attorney fire that attorney and find one that will stand up for you. Grandparents can not take your children away, last i checked their are 2 sets of grandparents. There are Supreme court cases that can be used as precedent to this. Stand up to these corrupt judges this is where they put the most inept and corrupt judges, i am sure some are good. Title V D which is the child support section has nothing to do with your custody order do not file it, the person that files it is asking for welfare. If you do not need welfare do not file paperwork. Research everything before you step in that courtroom and fight for your child and your life.
