Tatakaido is a semi-traditional hybrid martial art designed to be practical and extremely effective. Stemming from ancient and more modern martial arts, this system was designed to have the best of all worlds teaching students self-control and discipline, inner strength, outward power, self-defense, as well as many other skills for life. Tatakaido teaches all aspects of the martial arts realm by focusing on standing, ground fighting, leverage, and body mechanics. This art also has weapon forms that are more practical than similar martial arts by focusing on common weapons such as knives, sticks, and flexible weapons such as ropes, belts, scarves, and other like items. Tatakaido is more than a martial art, it is a way of life.
Examples of some systems incorporated in Tatakaido are: Krav Maga, Judo, Wing Chun, Systema, Jiujitsu, Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Aikido, Wrestling, Jeet Kune Do, ETC.
