We came here for the view which was *amazing* even with the rain, but the service and the food were both phenomenal. Everything was cooked to perfection, especially the Brussel sprouts and risotto both of which are very hard to do well. Plus they had elk, and it was super good!! The excellent beer was just icing on the cake. Perfect end to a fantastic day of mountain climbing! Absolutely recommended if you're looking for a special dinner that won't break the bank.
Came in simply for beers, nothing more, nothing less. We walked in on the gathering of a soon-to-happen wedding party, and asked if the place was closed. A smiling hostess? said "nope, come on in", and we obliged. It was a LITTLE busy, as well-dressed people kept filtering in and out, obviously working the tab for the wedding. The sole bartender was running around, but not overwhelmed by any stretch. He politely served us 8 different beers on 2 different flights, quickly, happily, and efficiently. The beers were alright. I think the sour was the best of them all, but the ciders sort of blended together, and nothing really stood out otherwise. I liked them well enough though. We had plans for dinner, so we didn't stay for any food, though, now, after looking back over the menu, I wish we had. Good little spot. Off the beaten path as beaten of a path as can be in Estes Park, but we enjoyed our little foray.
We're so glad we've found this restaurant! They have come through strong for us on two dinners now and have a more innovative menu than most of Estes. My faves: the crab dip, the chili, and the pecan risotto. Many drink options dry cider: delicious. Their views are lovely and the space is neat. My only complaint is slightly unprofessional service, but the food will take us back.
The game meat is the real attraction here. I had the Venison chops, and my wife had the wild game sliders. Both dishes were cooked perfectly, and tasted amazing. The brewery usually has a dozen fresh selections on tap, and they are all solid.
This restaurant has been many different names over the years. My wife and I are locals from Loveland and come to Estes frequently. After seeing billboards in Loveland for this place, I admit I was really looking forward to trying it. Since they advertise "the best game menu in town", I was expecting plenty of choices. No such luck. I think there was only 2 or 3 choices. The food was good and the staff friendly, but I really think any restaurant at this location should be exceptional. They were not. I think there are better choices in Estes.
We came around 1:30, expecting to eat lunch but they had different hours for off season. We were fine to wait. But when they opened the doors it was a mad dash for seats and even though I was first in line, someone got the only window seat available. We sat at another table with a good view but we're told we had to sit somewhere else in case a large group arrived. No one ever sat there while we were there, so we did not get to enjoy the view. Food was okay, not great. Drinks were good. The general attitude of the staff was like they didn't care. We won't return and wouldn't recommend.
The service here was stellar. The staff all worked together to make sure everyone was well taken care of. Waitress busy? No prob. Manager had our drinks. The food was excellent. Not only is menu menu well thought out, subtly catering to many tastes, but everything we ordered was impeccably prepared. Lovely good tap list too. This place is definitely worth driving out to.
We came here twice for dinner during our 3-night wedding weekend. The beer is solid, but the food and service are stellar. Everything is made in-house and you can tell the staff cares about the food and their customers. We are going to tell all our friends about this place and will be back next time we are in Estes.
The hostess was rude. We were seated in an almost empty dining room in a booth with little views. We waited fifteen minutes and then got up to ask about getting a server. The response was defensive; no apology. We moved to another section and another server. Food was very good. With all the options for dining in this area, we will not be back.
We came in on a Saturday night. There was 3 other tables with people at them. A few waitresses standing around we where seated and ordered drinks. We got our drinks and ordered our food. My wife got the ribeye $36 I got the chicken fried steak $18. The ribeye was tough and out on instant mashed potatoes with cheddar cheese mixed in and had no flavor. The chicken fried steak was beyond salty breading was falling off and was served with the same mashed potatoes. That were also cold. Neither of us finished our meal. The kicker is when the chef came out to ask how things were. I have to admit he has balls to come out after serving the food out of the kitchen like that.
