My husband and I stayed here while hunting turkey this past weekend. Perfect place! Nice and clean, friendly staff, awesome restaurant. We went both nights to Jacks place and it was perfect. Got super busy with one girl running the show but she did a great job and very friendly no matter how busy she was. Will stay here again!Rooms: 5/5
We were pleasantly surprised by Happy Jack lodge! We reserved a cabin for our anniversary and from the first call to the lodge to our goodbye by the nicest people. We will be back!!!! Room was perfect. Clean and cabin feeling. Resturant/bar staff were friendly and food was good. Store had everything we needed. The lady who guides people in amd out was especially amazing. Very energetic and kind. Thanks for a great stay!
This place WAS amazing. We have been renting a site for the past 4 years from them. New ownership only cares about getting as much money out of every camper as possible. Over the past 2 years they have come up with “creative” ways to increase the price. The sites are up to the campers to maintain themselves. We have spent 4 years clearing out our space of tree stumps and rocks. Now they are using that as rationale to increase our rental rates. They are forcing out many of us that have made this place special with their price gouging. Price has doubled over the past 2 years. Do you wallet a favor and go camp someplace else. Clint wells campground literally right down the road.
This place use to be amazing, but that is history. The gal behind the counter would not acknowledge 4 people waiting in line for well over 5 minutes. There were 6 people in the entire restaurant. Then refused to let us order burgers without chips or fries, charged full price. The amount was questioned, again she refused to let us order ala-carte. The burgers were terrible, lacked flavor and was extremely dry. The poor customer service and tasteless overpriced food means you have lost a long-term customer, we won’t be stopping here again.
We attempted to cancel in advance for a Tuesday thru Friday booking. Never was told the cancellation policy and attempted to cancel shortly after we booked. Told we have to email the manager. Waited for days and sent 2 emails before any response. It’s obvious they deliberately ignore you! Very bad reviews would not recommend. If you don’t believe, just read the bad reviews or look at YouTube videos Trails look flat and not really much of anything to do. No real restaurant with servers. I would go further out to Mormon lake or go to the rim. Scenery is far better looking and staff will actually respond to you. The cancellation policy is completely ridiculous. stay far away from this place. Will never go anywhere near this area ever again.
We booked a room for June 30, July 1 & 2. 2023, The website states that they have a restaurant that serves Breakfast - lunch, and Dinner. They do not. No breakfast on any day. Lunch from 12 to 2 on Sunday. No dinner on Sundays. Closed Monday and on Tuesday - the 4th of July. States on the Website that Take-outs are always available. - That is not true. There is no other place for in the area to get anything to eat. The general store was very limited in supplies. We stayed for two of the three nights. Asked for a refund for the last night because the restaurant was closed down. They said no to the refund. Bring your own food if you are going to stay at happy jack. We address to the manager, She was not helping. Very back customer care! Deceptive!
Thought we would give this place a try on the way home from fishing Saturday. NEVER AGAIN!! I should have read some of the previous reviews prior to even considering this place. Upon entering you stand in line to  pick from the menu and are required to pay in advance for your food should have known better and drinks, they give you a table number and you find a spot yourself and go wait no one checks on you. If you want refills on your soda  you will have to get in line, wait and then pay again. After an hour with no food and no service, we went back to wait in line again just to find out about our order. For 2 18$ steaks w/fries and one burger w/fries, we were told they were still waiting on one more thing to cook and it would be right out. Another 10 minutes go by and finely the food comes.. I honestly thought they forgot the steaks, it looked like just fried mushrooms and onions.. I moved them aside and found what they called a steak, my requested med/rare steak was so charged and over done it broke into pieces see pic. The frys were cold and rubbery and the burger was completely raw on the inside, raw mush! It was a waste of $65. The only positive was the bartender who had a genuinely nice attitude but that poor girl was just set up to fail with zero support staff. If you're just after a couple beers it might just be ok but for food NEVER AGAIN and definitely only pay cash. Looks like there are some sketchy unauthorized charges noted by other reviewers of their establishment.
Deceptive staff. Credit card fraud. Some business practices are criminal at the consumer's expense. Spotty Wi-Fi. Pro: safe for dogs. Excellent views. UPDATED: This location's business caused over $1,000 in damages and then also tried to charge my credit card afterward, without legal consent. The park repeatedly attempted additional fraudulent charges after I had been off of the property for over three weeks. The property refused multiple written requests to destroy billing information, resulting in the need to change card numbers and inform merchants of their criminal behavior. Moved my trailer here on April 20, 2023. I'm a double full-time student and run a pet charity. I made clear my intent to Anita, the park manager to stay indefinitely. When I called on May 10th to arrange my following month, Anita informed me that the park began enforcing a 10 year old policy this month, of not allowing trailers in the park, older than 10 years. The park currently has more than 40 units here that are older than 10 years and show no signs of moving. See photos. I spoke to the manager, Ryan, who indicated that Arizona has virtually no laws protecting people in trailers and that they can enforce this policy as arbitrarily as they wish. While Arizona does have virtually no tenant protections for folks in RV's, no park is permitted to arbitrarily enforce policies for one group of guests and not for another, to try to bring in cash when needed, at the expense of poor guests, through deceptive and discriminatory policies. That's pretty different than a level playing field.
Should be called sad Jack. Not friendly at all. Campground looks like tent city. No restrooms in restaurant and hostess was very irritated.Rooms: 1/5
Most importantly the rooms are clean and well kept. Customer service in the store is a little cold. Definitely not what you expect when picking up your key and directions for your room. Food in the bar restaurant is expensive and not worth the price. The ladies that work in the bar are very friendly. I would stay here again if I had to but plan to drive 20 minutes for all my meals.
