Campsite/Service: Clean and exceptionally maintained-- we booked a double site with excellent location near bathroom but with enough around it to give privacy. It also appears they are planting more trees in great places for future privacy and possibly hammock use. Every site has large bear locker, fire ring and 10x16 tent pads. We were able to fit out small four tents on the double pad site, and had plenty of space for our campers. The workers are friendly and helpful-- always there to give advice. SEVERAL things we would not have known to make our trip work if not for these guides! When we purchased ice or firewood, they would bring it by with their cart. They kept a good eye on our site when we were away and we truly appreciated their efforts to make our stay the best! Location: RIGHT THERE beside the National Park and Estes Park-- views were amazing and we had several campground visitors deer, ground to the delight of the kids. Weather was blustery in the afternoons and sometimes the "monsoon"-like storms would hit and threaten our camp, but the staff helped us keep the tents standing and were there to provide advice for all our concerns. We will absolutely return to this campground.
Our first time camping here and it was great. We can't wait to come back. Beautiful views, clean camp sites with tables, pits and bear boxes. Showers and restrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen in a camp ground. Play ground, pool, corn hole and camp store on site.Service: 5/5
A great campground to stay at in the Estes Park area. Good bathroom/shower facilities and friendly and helpful staff. There is a store with almost anything needed if you forgot to pack something. Our tents were uprooted due to high winds while were on a day trip. The staff was nice enough to put our tents back for us. Would recommend this campground to families and it has a playground for the kids. Nearby activities: Lots of great shops and places to eat and drink in Estes Park and close to the Rocky Mountain National Park entrances. Safety: The campground is very safe and they use bear boxes to store food and are very proactive about educating guests on bear safety. Noteworthy details: Great place to camp
Terrifically maintained campground. The bear lockers provided are large - big enough to fit our cooler and a storage container in and then some!. The bathrooms are immaculate! Super clean and heated. Only complaint is that showers are $2.00 for 6 minutes, which seems pricey but I don’t typically camp in campsites so I have no idea if this is normal or decently priced so your mileage may vary. They also have a sink for dishes, a store on site, a nice pool, and a play area for kids. Staff was super friendly, and you are only 10 minutes from the entrance to RMNP without being in the actual city. Will definitely recommend this spot to friends.
BUMMER! Our cherished annual tradition of gathering with a large group of friends at this campsite turned sour, marred by the disappointing conduct of the campground management. Despite having made a reservation for our group, we were blindsided by an unmentioned limit of 30 people per group, causing unwarranted complications. Initially, the management allowed us to stay, but it soon became apparent that we were regarded as an inconvenience. Throughout our stay, the management seemed to find reasons to single us out, complaining about noise one moment and cleanliness the next. Ironically, we diligently cleaned our site and even placed our garbage neatly by the street, intending to dispose of it properly later. We were pleasantly surprised when the management's cart stopped and picked up our trash, leading us to believe they were understanding and attentive. Unfortunately, that perception was shattered when they later accused us of violating rules related to the mess at our campsite, which felt like a targeted harassment tactic. Despite the campsite's appealing features, including clean facilities, well-maintained tent pads, and bathrooms, our experience was overshadowed by an ineffective and unsympathetic management team. It pains us to consider that our race might have played a role in the mistreatment, especially when we noticed the staff showing interest in the food we were cooking just before issuing violations. In the end, the campground's management seemed to find satisfaction in creating a lose-lose situation for us, tarnishing what should have been an enjoyable and memorable gathering. We hope that by sharing our experience, necessary changes will be made to ensure all visitors are treated fairly and respectfully, regardless of their background or group size.
Do not stay here. Me and my friends came and booked for 2 nights. FIRST morning we were rudely told that we needed to be out in one hour. It was 8am. They gave us a 1 hour warning. We had a whole day planned and they ruined it all. They kicked us out and couldn’t even give a few hours to get out. They said we were “too loud” and “partying” the night before. When in reality we were in our tent ready for bed at 10:30. We were NOT loud. We were talking at a normal tone voice and so were our neighbors. We could hear our neighbors talking and saw them outside till late at night but they didn’t care about them. They have many bad reviews on this website so I’m not too sure why we came. They will not give us a refund on our second night either. They KICKED us out and SCAMMED us of our money. Do not come here. You are better off going anywhere else. Bad staff. Bad rules.
Clean, tidy, and right on the edge of the park and downtown Estes. We would stay here again and recommend the campground to others. We experienced friendly staff the entire time we were there. There are typical rules which were easy to abide by. Staff were present throughout the campground but were not at all bothersome. Im not a review writer and after a sour group of people leaving bad reviews, I felt like I needed to let others know we had 100% good experience. If you have troubles being respectful and like to challenge authority, just be ready to pack up early as it won’t be tolerated. Knowing that rules are enforced gives me a peace of mind = keeps the riff-raff out. Thanks for being great hosts!
We camped at Mary’s Lake for our trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. The sites are a good size. Every member of the staff we talked with was very friendly. The bathrooms were spotless all the time. It took less than ten minutes to get to the Beaver Meadows entrance of the national park and about 15 minutes to the Fall River entrance. We will camp there again if we go back to the Rockies.
We stayed here for 11 days and loved it. Campground is incredibly well maintained. Beautiful scenery, loved having the lake right there to hike around, our children enjoyed the playground everyday. Highly recommend!Service: 5/5
We had a terrible experience with this campsite. We have been camping for last 10 years, this place has been the worst so far. From the first day we camped till the last day, our camping experience was ruined. I understand there are policies and rules but the staff did not want to hear any of our genuine reasons. No matter how much we tried from our end, they would always cite the littlest thing that we were doing that was violating their policies. Not a great set of memory to take back - I do hope they are better and more open/welcoming to other guests and respectful of their experiences. As for me and my group, we will definitely not camp here again!!
