This True Value is full of CROOKS. I'd minus stars if I could. I rent concrete trailers from true value rentals on a regular basis. Mainly Crystal River. But I have rented from their location 5 times in the last few months Ive been in situations where you load the trailer up and you can't get it back before they close. I'm always there when the doors open. Maybe a few minutes behind, but not by much. Never in a situation where it costs true value any money. They charge me $500 for not making it there before they closed with the concrete trailer. They billed my card every 3 hours straight through the night. They couldn't even rent it out until they opened. They will not work with you. I've had the same situation happen in Crystal River and the manager out there has never charged me like this, they even still give me back the deposit. Because I always bring it back right away and clean. It's not even like I knew. They dont go over any of that with you. Its just " hey sign and initial." I rent machines from these places all the time. I will not be going back to this location. To top it off they didn't reset the time when I pulled up for my second load of concrete. I feel like they were trying to set me up and even if I did get the trailer back they were gonna hit me with some other charges. Because theres no way to make a 3 hour window when you were never even given the 3 hours. I recommend that you save yourself the headache and spend the extra 20 minutes to travel to Crystal River. The people out there are a lot better than the people in the Inverness. They are professional, reasonable, and honest. They work with you and they are understanding. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and disputing the charges. This isn't how you do business. As a small business owner, I highly do not recommend this company. Don't waste your time or money and don't trust them with your credit card information.. Shawn Murphy
Great rental yard. Good knowledgable help. Good equipment in top shape. One caveat, I think the concrete mixing person should use the appropriate amount of water specified for a 5 sack mix.6 qts per 90 lb bag? He added water by hose and the mix was very dry, especially at the end. The fiber re-enforcing makes for rock solid concrete.
I use this true value from time to time , my usual location is crystal river. On Memorial Day I came in and requested a 4 hour rental for the Skid Steer and Dump Trailer. Without realizing it I was handed a 24 hour contract. I was informed after signing the contract that they would be closing at 10 am. The hours listed on the website show normal business hours. I put 1.3 hours on the skid steer and returned it to them clean and full of diesel as requested. Justin up front informed me that they would not be willing to charge me for the 4 hour rental I requested and that in fact I will be responsible for the 24 hour charge. I paid the fee and later contacted both Crystal River True Value and True Value corporate who both told me that they do NOT condone the actions of True Value Inverness. With only 1.3 hours on the machine it is highly inappropriate to charge me for 24 hours when the hours listed on the website show normal times. 7-5 Unless this issue is corrected True Value Inverness has lost a high volume customer over bad customer service. I will only be using Sunbelt and the Crystal River location unless I am contacted and assisted by the owner. On the bright side, this store has an excellent employee named Rocco. Rocco was polite, punctual, and probably be better off at the Competitors location. Rocco apologized profusely for his inability to help me pay for the appropriate rental time 4 hours As a business owner I would say it’s smart to avoid this location if you are looking for honesty and integrity. The hours posted online do not match what the people running the store say in person.
On April 28th 2022 I rented a chain saw from this location. The person behind the counter assured me that the saw had been inspected and sharpened by their staff. When I got home I pulled the saw out of my truck and went to cut the first log and got nothing but saw dust meaning that the blade was very dull. I immediately returned the saw to the rental center and asked for a small compensation $10 to cover my time and gas. The same person at the counter asked if I would accept $5 which I agreed to. The manager then accused me of hitting a nail or cutting concete with the saw. The manager told me it was my fault and accused me of everything but lying. The manager then told me that I signed a contract and there would be no refund or compensation. I have now been billed for the full charges for this rental on my credit card including the $25.00 deposit plus an unspecified and unauthorized charge in the amount to $11.03. I should have listened to my neighbor who had a similar experience with this company. I would suggest that prospective customers read other reviews as this will substantiate my claim. BEWARE OF THIS BUSINESS! They are very unprofessional and unethical.
My husband asked me to go on here and write a 5 star review because he was so impressed with the quick polite and efficient manor in which they did business today! This price was awesome too! He's not easily impressed and it was a stressful day, so big kudos to the employees here! Job well done in days where most businesses are struggling with finding good help. You guys nailed it
Flew in from NJ to help out my 89 y/o parents. Rented a power washer and a hydro scrubber which hooks up to the power washer. I get to my parents house and there is an adapter missing making the hydro scrubber unusable. Called the office and asked them politely if they could bring the adapter to me since I had no transportation back there until the next day, and since it was THEIR mistake. They [unpolitely] refused and I did not have a ride back there to pick up the missing part. When I returned the equipment the next day, they wanted to charge me for the item that was unusable, due to the missing part. The young man behind the counter actually laughed when I asked for a refund. No kidding, I wish I could have filmed it. While arguing about this, the owner comes out and says “If you would shut up for a minute, we’ll explain”. I could NOT believe my ears. I have never encountered such a rude business in my entire life. Avoid this place like the plague. I will see them in court.
Truly amazing service. I rented table and chairs from them. My other company never delivered and when I called True Value in a panic, they assured me they could take care of everything. The delivery and pickup was on time and I couldn’t be more thankful. This company saved my wedding party. I will recommend them anytime someone needs equipment rentals or table/chair rentals. I rented a trencher, one that wasnt self propelled to run a water line from one corner of the house to the opposite, about 60feet. The equipment was clean and worked as intended, and the service man asked questions to ensure that I was getting the right equipment for the job. I highly recommend these guys. Professional and efficient.
We have rented several pieces of equipment from this place recently. Needed a saw last week while they repaired ours. The yard guys are also mechanics and know their stuff. Never had issues with the equipment or the people. Good folks. From what I can tell on here the only negative reviews are about the old owners or from whiners who don't know anything about equipment. Best place to rent from period.
Don’t waste your time going to this rental place. Over Priced a rental equipment!!! ! They Will NOT rent to someone that has a truck less then 3/4 ton. They don’t bother to tell you that over the phone I watch with my own eyes a guy come to pick up bobcat they turned him away because they thought his truck was not the right size. There’s no doubt about it that truck could pull . . They said insurance purposes his truck was not allowed. They need to tell people this. Horrible horrible service. Gooood luck!
