Welcome to Thai Staunton Restaurant. This is the fourth Jaipayungton family owned and operated restaurant. Chef Thipphawan (Wan) owned and operated a 24-hour Thai restaurant in Thailand for five years and then moved to the USA 20 years ago. She had been a well known chef in the DC Metro area for 17 years before she decided to open her own restaurant with her daughter, Paranee, in the small town of Culpeper, Virginia. After three years of success at Thai Culpeper Restaurant we decided to expand our authentic Thai cooking to Winchester, Virginia.
Thai Winchester Restaurant, located in the heart of the historic Old Town Mall, Winchester, Virginia, is a full service restaurant with patio seating and full bar. After three years with fabulous reviews from our customers and two “People’s Choice” awards for Favorite Restaurant, we opened Thai Win II at Apple Blossom Corners. Now, three more years later, Thai Staunton Restaurant brings authentic Thai cuisine to Staunton, Virginia, a city that has become one of the “country’s best-kept foodie secrets”.
Our diverse and flavorful menu has something for everyone, from mild to hot, vegetarian or not. One of the keys to the preparation of our wonderful food is the use of fresh herbs and spices such as lemon grass, basil, mint, galanga, cilantro and kaffir lime leaves, and high quality vegetable oil. We cook the food fresh to order, as mild or spicy as you like, with no MSG added.
Thai food is internationally famous for being healthy food. The herbs for Thai food not only provide unique flavor, but they are believed to have varying degrees of medicinal and therapeutic benefits. Low in calories but rich in taste.
