Alden Long Grove was an excellent place for me to heal while waiting for a liver transplant. The facility is clean, has many activities, and the CNAs, staff and nurses were all fantastic - shout out to Alvaro, Ino, Angel, Mayra and Celia! I had many setbacks but the nurses and management were quick to help. Happy to say after 10 months of staying at Alden getting my strength back went in to Alden in a wheelchair, walked out unassisted, I had my liver transplant and am home doing great. Thank you to everyone at Alden!!
I will be leaving in 2 days after 6 weeks here. I was previously paralyzed and spent a combined total of about 3 years in Skilled Nursing Facilities. This is the best one. The people work hard and are friendly, and the food is good. Not overbearing or meager portions. Lots of activities, regular visits from the local library. 5 stars. Thanks Alden therapy!
My father stayed at this facility last year. While there were some kind staff my family found much of the care lacking in both professionalism and compassion. The facility was quite old, out dated, dirty and generally run down. They did some painting but, unfortunately, the facility was in dire need of much more repair and upkeep. If you are considering them, I would strongly caution and, at a minimum, I recommend visiting and thoroughly touring the facility as well as looking into any number of the other care facilities in the area which are newer, nicer, and more up to date.
My husband and I have been here since 2015. I met my husband here and we had a wedding in our big atrium in the facility. Bruce and I are very happy right now with management and our nursing staff. Food is good and my room is cleaned everyday from housekeeping.
The staff here is what makes this building a good place. Yeah…it’s old, but it’s clean. Every time I come in, my mom is dry, clean and happy. Her cna Mayra and PM cna Fredy are amazing! The management team have been very helpful and available at all times.
This place has terrible staff and needs a complete overhaul of good employees and check ups, plus this god awful place should be shut down. I write to warn others through me and my families experience with these crooks. My dad was sent here just to recover, but in less than 36 hours it went badly. The staff there didn't put up side rails since he was a fall risk, the nurses didn't set up an alarm because they say it scares the patients and the staff assigned to him at their respective shift took an early 13 minutes coffee break. Due to all these factors along with my dad on medication which he shouldn't have been. He walked out into the hallway and into the restroom, but slipped and hit his head on the toilet where he suffered internal brain bleed. He was afterwards, put on life support, and passed away. All this in 36 hours because the staff there are heartless excuses for human beings and I lost my dad after high school graduation thanks to them. Everyone please take this review as a consideration to not go to these people. They don't care about your loved ones.
The administration and the staff is very friendly and willing to help. The nurses are very knowledgeable and there for you. All in all it's been a wonderful experience.
After living in several nursing homes, I transferred to Alden of Long Grove after being referred by Alexian Brothers. This gracious facility is as comfortable as home. I can only describe the facility's cleanliness as immaculate. The staff here is professional, caring, respectful, and kind. The managers and the administrators are as professional and empathetic as the staff. The administrator, Yvette, worked her way up from starting as a C.N.A., so she is intimately acquainted with the employees' jobs. She is not the only one. Some other people in management also worked their way up. Anytime you need something or have a problem, there is always someone who will help you. There is an Activity Department with plenty of things for the residents to do during the day. The kitchen staff will provide you with a menu, and you can eat whatever you pick out. The building has quite a unique architecture. There are two courtyards and an atrium for dining and other activities. The grounds are lovely. In winter, after a snowfall, the scenery is stunning. I have lived at Alden Long Grove for four years. I wouldn't think of going elsewhere. If you are looking for a nursing home, please visit us as I am confident you will be impressed.
I am here 6 months long term. And I love my little private room. I love my cna inocencio, he is always so kind to me
I've been here a little over a year and can truly say that this facility is very good. The staff and management are the best. The Nurses and the CNAs are very professional and answer call light pretty quickly. The CNAs cover each other also. There's been times if the CNA assigned to me is busy with other residents, they come to help even if they're not assigned to me. The food is pretty good. The hot food is always hot and the cold food is always cold. The physical therapist are great and know what they're doing. They always make sure I'm doing things safely so no chance of me falling. If I ever have to come to a facility like this after I go home, I would ask to come here. Another good thing is the activities they offer us to keep us busy. Lastly I would like to add that this facility is very clean. They clean my room and hallways including mopping my floors every day.
